Twisted Metal on Ps3 Confirmed
2008-02-07 15:51:00
It's been rumored for a long time, but now David Jaffe has finally confirmed that a PlayStation 3 iteration of Twisted Metal is developer Eat Sleep Play's next project. Twisted Metal: Head On: Extra Twisted Edition for PlayStation 2 promised to carry a clue about his studio's next project, which was apparently cracked with internet-speed tenacity by the folks at the GameFAQs boards. The message? "Twisted Metal is Coming on PSThree." Pretty straightforward! Jaffe, who is currently at the D.I.C.E. Summit, confirmed the message with Kotaku, but declined to comment on whether the game will be on a physical disc or be sold via the PlayStation Store. Last month, we spoke with Jaffe about the Extra Twisted Edition and asked what it would take for a PlayStation 3 entry to be made: "If we were to make another one, I think part of our goal would be, 'How do we satisfy the fanbase that we have that we're very grateful for, but how do we also kind of rethink the series as a whole and the ...

GearBox working on next Halo?!
2008-02-07 15:49:00
Earlier this week, Gearbox Software President and CEO, Randy Pitchford, revealed that the company is in the early stages of a new project that is the most important development they have ever worked on.I’ve started a new project. It’s big. It’s, like, look-at-our-line-up-and-imagine-something-even-bigger kind of big. I’m Directing it myself. I can't mention it publicly yet. When you find out what this is, you'll likely agree that I can't oversell this one.Gearbox is on fire right now and it’s only looking better down the road. This is an extremely rare chance to join up in a super senior role with a lot of authority and responsibility. Even if you’re only curious, just introduce yourself to me by e-mailing dreamgig@gearboxsoftware.com Yeah, it’s a campy address, but when you hear more about the project you'll probably agree. We can be extremely discreet if you’re curious but don’t want to represent that you’re looking to leave your current gig - just let us know ...

Wii Mario Cart News
2008-02-06 19:15:00
This week's Famitsu magazine has the latest tidbits on Mario Kart Wii. The game will include the wheel controller which was first revealed in last year's E3 press conference. Players can now choose between karts and bikes to race, and each will have its advantages and disadvantages. With bikes, you can perform wheelies to speed up but this also makes turning more difficult. Both karts and bikes also now allow you to perform tricks in midair by turning the wheel left and right, or by moving the wheel up and down. Pulling them off successfully will reward players with a speed boost upon landing. The game will feature 16 new tracks and 16 remake tracks from previous Mario Kart titles. As for multiplayer battle stages, 10 stages will be included. Players can compete against each other in races and battles with up to 4 players in split screen mode and up to 16 players via Nintendo's Wifi Connection service -- up from the previously announced cap of 12 players. You can also use your Mi ...
