Sukhumvit Sidewalks Challenge~!!

I propose that the Olympics should include the "Sukhumvit Sidewalks Challenge" as an official sport!! Before you howl to high heavens and declare me insane, take a look at these pics first... you'll agree that it takes a certain panache, exceptional balance and nerves of steel to maneuver these sidewalks... the exact same "skills" needed to win in the Olympics~!!

Sukhumvit Sidewalks Challenge~!!

I propose that the Olympics should include the "Sukhumvit Sidewalks Challenge" as an official sport!! Before you howl to high heavens and declare me insane, let me first explain: Anyone who has been to Sukhumvit knows that Sukhumvit has one of the most (ahem) dynamic pavements/sidewalks around. Dynamic as in “forever changing”. It's not an easy task walking on Sukhumvit. You gotta compete for space with street food vendors, motorycle taxis, other pedestrians, and beggars... plus numerous creatures. On top of everything else, you got these schizophrenic pavements that just can't stay still!! The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) seems to have made re-digging and re-paving Sukhumvit’s sidewalks a lifelong hobby. They’ve just recently “finished” yet another “construction” of the Sukhumvit sidewalks. It’s such a challenge trying to keep up with the Sukhumvit sidewalk that is forever being “repaired” (READ: dug up for the millionth time). S ...
