Bill Murray to play Agent 13 in Get Smart 2007-08-06 05:10:28 Get Smart has definitely been smart with it’s casting. Bill Murray has signed up to the film to play Agent 13 who, in the original 1960’s television series, was played by Dave Ketchum and proved to be one of the most popular comic characters in the show. Agent 13, in the television show, was a secret KONTROL agent who has forever being stationed inside weird places such as mailboxes, lockers and washing lines - amongst other things. Along with Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell it looks like Bill Murray’s appearance in Get Smart will tip the film over the edge into mega money maker! World of Warcraft Movie Aiming For 2009 Release and PG-13 Rating 2007-08-06 04:54:03 The big screen World of Warcraft movie, which is currently development, has a budget of $100 million, reports 300 producer Thomas Tull. The movie is aiming for a 2009 release. Talking about the film, Thomas says, “We’re going to be looking for someone of Zak Snyder (300) or Chris Nolan (The Dark Knight, Batman Beings) calibre. I can tell you that this is the one thing about running a studio and making these things that’s hard. You want to not compromise and have the right level of intensity. The story and the director’s vision is what’s ultimately going to dictate that. Personally one of my favourite movies of all time is Lord of the Rings, which has a PG-13 rating.” The studio are also hoping for a PG-13 rating, which doesn’t please everybody. Former Home Depot chief Bob Nardelli to become new Chairman and CEO of Chrysler 2007-08-06 04:36:38 It now seems as though Former Home Depot chief Bob Nardelli will now become the new Chairman and CEO of Chrysler. Nardelli is expected to receive a performance-based compensation package, what that means is if the company Chrysler, does not show much improvement then Bob will not get paid. Bob Nardelli decided to call it a day as Home Depot chief because of a strained relationship with the company’s shareholders, over his compensation package and also the company’s stock price. The Dark Knight Anime direct-to-DVD Project Revealed 2007-08-06 04:35:58 Batmanonfilm has got their mits on a leaked info sheet for a Batman anime project which hasn’t been officially announced yet. The project would work the same way that the Animatrix did for The Matrix films, which was also released by Warner Bros. The project would consist of six short stories which would fill in any unclear gaps between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. The anthology, rated a PG-13, will be geared towards core fans and tween boys. The name attached to supposedly write the stories include Josh Olsen (The History of Violence), David Goyer (Blade, Batman Begins) and famed comic book writer Brian Azzarello. The Bourne Ultimatum is the top earner at the Box Office this weekend 2007-08-06 04:23:47 When The Bourne Ultimatum was released on Friday is earned $25.5 million, this means that it should translate to a $72 million opening weekend. That’s easily more than The Bourne Identity’s $27.1 million and The Bourne Supremacy’s $52.5 million. It is also the best opening weekend of Matt Damon’s career. The Simpson’s didn’t have it so good with a massive 66% drop in profits from it’s opening. Disney’s Underdog did surprisingly well with $4.1 million taken on Friday making it third. I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry is still doing well in 4th. Hot Rod and Bratz have both been a disappointment, with them making $5.1M and $4.4M respectively. New Release Date and Theatrical Poster for August Rush 2007-08-06 04:14:54 The release date for August Rush has been put back from October 19th to Wednesday, November 21st. The film will now be up against the Coen Brothers’ ‘No Country for Old Men’, Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘There Will Be Blood’, the new Jon Heder comedy ‘Mama’s Boy’, and the Frank Darabont adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Mist’. Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360: HMV taking MGS 4 online pre-orders 2007-08-06 04:06:46 Following on from our story that Xbox 360 is Getting Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots; it now seems as if those rumors are true because HMV are now taking online pre-orders in the UK. It does seem strange that HMV are taking online pre-orders of MGS 4 even before there has been any official confirmation or announcement from game maker Konami that the game is coming to the Xbox. So the question is do HMV know something that many of us do not know, or have they just got a bit confused. There must be something in it though, as HMV have the release date for Metal Gear Solid 4 on the Xbox 360 five months later than the PS3 release date. Robocop celebrates it’s 20th Anniversary with Collector’s Edition DVD 2007-08-06 03:48:20 Part Man, Part Machine. All Cop. Yep that’s right, Robocop is back. The 1987 cyberpunk action movie, which saw two sequels, two animated series, two television series, several comic books, multiple video games and dozens of action figures, obviously isn’t enough as there is now a Robocop 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition DVD. The film was set in a dystopian near future in Detroit, Michigan. Violent crime rates are through the roof and the city is in financial ruin. The city contracts the megacoporation Omni Consumer Products to fund the police department. OCP is not interested in rebuilding old Detroit but want to replace it with a modern utopia called “Delta City”. OCP want to eliminate crime in the city before work begins and creates a superhuman law-enforcement agent known as Robocop. Will Sam Raimi direct the Clash of the Titans Remake? 2007-08-06 03:41:21 The latest rumour circulating the net is that Warner Bros has offered Sam Raimi a multi-picture deal which includes a Clash of the Titans remake. Raimi has not yet accepted the deal. The director of everyone’s favourite Spider-Man is also supposedly being wooed by New Line to make a big screen adaptation of J.R.R Tolkien’s The Hobbit. While rumours of a Spider-Man 4 have also been reported. Whether Raimi takes the offer or not, he may use this project to get a better deal on the other projects. Who knows? In April of this year, Lawrence Kasden was hired by Warner Bros to write the remake. If you’ve not heard the name before, Kasden was the super-scribe behind Return of the jedi, The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Big Chill. His writing skills are phenomenal and it would be good to see him back after the run of bad luck he has had these past ten years. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt deny break up reports, saying the only thing they would ever argue about are politics. Angelina said “Well, he was already political when I met him. One of the reasons that we came together was that he’s very socially and politically aware,” then she said “But he has been more outspoken since. I think that’s not so much me as becoming a parent. We actually argue politics at home. It’s the only time we argue.” Angelina said that “We’re very much parents together.
