Out Friday: Xbox 360 Chatpad for people keen to send text messages 2007-09-04 04:36:28 I keep going on about how good the Xbox 360 chat (voice mainly) is and now at last they got some hardware to back up that good software. This Friday sees the launch of the “Xbox 360 Chatpad� which is designed for people that keen to send text messages. The Qwerty keypad will make it much faster for Xbox 360 users to send text based messages and it is expected to sell for £24.99 (which is not bad). How good it works will have to wait to we get a hands-on review later this week (which we will feature our own detailed review of the device). Plasma vs. LCD: what are you buying? 2007-09-04 03:28:19 Having a plasma HDTV in the living room and LCD TV’s in other rooms and bedrooms, today I got to thinking “what are selling the most?� Which of the two main formats (Plasma and LCD) sell the most? For me plasma is my favourite choice on a large screen (42 inches plus) and with anything 32 inches and under I buy an LCD. Prices are dropping fast on smaller LCD displays and if things keep going the way they are with technology advancements I can see LCD’s winning the battle and becoming the major format. What I would like to know from you is: Have you brought an LCD or Plasma Television? Which format did you buy and what size TV did you get? Sales of the Honda Fit were about 3,000 units in July 2006, now July 2007 those sales have more than doubled to 6,343 and with a redesign of the Fit next year which will be shown at the Tokyo Motor Show sales you increase even further. What is so good about the Honda fit is that it has a five star safety rating, add to this superb fuel efficiency it seems as if Honda have the perfect balance with this vehicle. Sneaky shot of the new 2009 Corvette SS supercharged sports coupe 2007-09-04 02:35:40 Here is a sneaky shot of the new 2009 Corvette SS which is a supercharged version of the sports coupe, what most people are looking forward too about this car is the fact that the power has been increased to 600hp plus. Although these spyshots look a lot like the standard Corvette there are a number of changes to the 2009 Corvette SS that makes it very different. The thing is a number of important changes had to be made to the standard Corvette so that this sportier version can hit the 200mph plus mark. Firstly it looks as though there is a bulge on the hood, which would be there to provide extra room for the supercharger. Under the hood we have the 6.2-liter V8 engine; also it looks as though the hood and also the roof could be made from Carbon Fiber not only is it stronger it is also much lighter. Improved Sony PS3 Voice Chat Needed: something more like Xbox 360 2007-09-04 02:28:54 Last night I just brought a Bluetooth headset for my Sony PS3 (one of those that you use for cell phones), my brother got one as well so we could talk while playing games. As I have owned an Xbox 360 since they came out, I am use to the 360’s chat set up and I must say I am very disappointed in the way the Playstation 3 lets you voice chat. With the Xbox 360 you can do private chats and then move around the dashboard and into games still chatting, but on the Sony PS3 if you go to leave a chat setup it will then break the voice chat (that’s rubbish). The same in games, you cannot enter into a private chat with a friend while playing a game. When it comes to the looks, feel and hardware I prefer the Sony PS3 but for the software side (like voice chat) the Xbox 360 wins hands-down. I am lucky enough to own the Nintendo Wii, Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 so I can give you a hands-on opinion of all 3 games consoles. Google Earth now gets flight simulator: much better that Google Sky add-on 2007-09-03 16:28:02 It seems that Google are going into even more markets, first we had Google Earth, then we had Google Sky and now we have the launch of their newest add-on Google Flight Simulator. What makes all these updates even better is the fact that they are free. Some people will not have heard of this update and therefore will not know how to use the Flight Simulator, all you need to do is press Ctrl+Alt+A to get things started. Once the add-on starts up you will have the choice to fly two planes either an F16 or a SR22 which is a four-seater plane. What makes these update even better is the fact that it has full joystick support and the fact that you can save how far you get.
