The Nines Theatrical Poster 2007-08-09 15:05:31 A new one-sheet poster for John August’s directional debut The Nines has been released. The film was well received at the Sundance Film Festival and is set to do great things when it’s released. The poster features star of the movie Ryan Reynolds trying to untie (or tie) a green string bracelet on his wrist. This is something that is important during the film. The tagline “You Never Know When Your Number Is Up” is pretty cool and goes well on the super cool poster. The poster is great as it doesn’t actually give away the genre of the film or anything that may go on in the film. The film has been compared to Lost but it’s so hard to compare it to anything even that is a stretch. The film starts as a realistic film with a mysterious, sci-fi element and evolves into a multi-part story with twisted mind-messing climax. So looking forward to this one! You have to go see it! But what NBC and News Corp do have is a billion dollar valuation for their nameless, website-less, soon to be a major competitor to YouTube…proposal video website! That doesn’t make sense does it? This comes as Providence Equity Partners, a Rhode Island based private equity firm, has staked the venture $100 million in return for 10% of the enterprise. The NBC News Corp website doesn’t have a name yet, but apparently Google executives call it “Clown Co.” behind closed doors. This “company” didn’t even exist three months ago, and now its worth one billion dollars. Stocks Plunge As Bank Suspends Home Loan and Mortgage Operations 2007-08-09 10:30:08 As soon as trading began today, stocks plunged as a large French bank, BNP Paribas, suspended three of its funds in light of the recent crumbling in the US housing and mortgages market. Due to these home loan fears, the Dow Jones fell over 200 points and the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ plunged with the Dow. Stocks have rebounded slightly, with the Dow down 105.92 or 0.78%, the S&P down 4.54 or 0.16% and the Nasdaq down 13.04 or 0.87%. These home loan and mortgage concerns just aren’t going away and companies are trying to calm the fears surrounding the home loan and mortgage market. Despite mortgage applications rising 8.1% last week, some influential Democrat politicians are calling for the government to do more to support the mortgage industry. This US Military elite game is probably one of the best war games of all time and not sure if any others come close. The year is 2014 and the rising conflict between the Mexican loyalists and insurgent rebel forces has thrown Mexico into full-scale civil war, you will play the game as Captain Scott Mitchell. John Gulager: Feast sequels possible? 2007-08-09 09:06:00 Project Greenlight “winner” John Gulager might return two Feast sequels. Talking to Fangoria, Feast co-screenwriter Marcus Dunstan said, ““Feast 2 and 3 are coming together, with Gulager back. Neo Art & Logic is producing again, and if they let us get away with the vulgarities we’ve currently scripted, and if we don’t get deported, we just may have the NC-17-rated monsterfest that was only hinted at in the first film.” Feast was a modest success on DVD thanks to it’s low budget and without Blockbuster I think it would be harder to turn a profit on the sequels. The NC-17 rating is probably just wishful thinking and doesn’t make sense in the business world, unless the studio releases separate R-Rated and Unrated cuts of the film.
