Well, with Halloween breaking the Labour Day weekend record (aiming for $32 million) the film has earned twice as much as it’s estimated $15 million budget. So, with the film being so successful, will there be a sequel? Tarantino is a great friend of the Japanese Director and he once asked him to perform a cameo in Eli Roth’s Hostel. To return the favour, Tarantino performed in the opening action sequence of Django. Quentin Tarantino plays a mysterious man who goes by the name of Ringo. He appears at the beginning of the movie and fights with an unnamed Japanese cast member. Cancer Campaigner Jane Tomlinson Has Lost Her Fight 2007-09-04 05:31:43 Jane Tomlinson family have announced that Jane died last night at St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds after a long battle against breast cancer. The mum-of-three, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer seven years ago, has raised more than £1.75m for good causes in a series of gruelling challenges. Her husband Mike and children Suzanne, Rebecca and Steven have said that “We are as a family heartbroken at this loss but we know this extends to all her family and friends. Jane has always said her family has been the greatest joy in life and we feel honoured to have been blessed with such a wonderful person.” When Jane was told she had breast cancer, doctors gave her just a few months to live but since then she has drawn praise from around the world for feats which have included cycling across the US, taking part in the notorious Florida Ironman event and cycling from Rome to her home in West Yorkshire. Nintendo Wii vs. Sony PS3 Sales: the gap narrows in Japan 2007-09-04 05:28:55 In August the Nintendo Wii outsold the Sony PS3 by a ratio of 3-1 in Japan, but some are saying big changes could be coming as for the second consecutive month Nintendo’s overwhelming lead in the games console market has narrowed. 245,653 Nintendo Wii’s sold in the 4 weeks ending August 26th which is compared to 81,541 Sony Playstation 3’s (according to game magazine publisher Enterbrain). In June this ratio was 6-1 and in July it was 4-1 and now 3-1, could this be a pattern or is there other factors not being seen. I have brought one of each of the three main consoles, but this news is very interesting. Could this mean people are starting to understand the cutting-edge technology that’s inside the Sony PS3 like the Blu-ray high-definition DVD player and the hope of many more strong game titles for the PS3 coming (as the games are very limited at present). Nokia battery not on the recall list explodes and injures woman 2007-09-04 05:26:04 We know that Nokia and also Matsushita were very busy recently as they had to recall over 46 million batteries from the handsets. Well it looks as if could be in for some bad news, as a woman in India was injured as her Nokia cell phone exploded and it was a power cell that was not on the recall list. The battery was a BL-D3 series, and the Nokia blew up after the cell phone had only been on charge for ten minutes, what occurred nest was a ball of fire that gave the woman minor burns. Nokia have since stated that the “incident was isolated,” they then went on to say that if they find that both the handset, the battery and also the charger are original then the Indian lady will be compensated. Justica League Of America Begins Casting In Canada 2007-09-04 05:22:48 Recent reports have claimed that casting has begun on the Justice League of America movie in New York, Vancouver and Toronto. Warner Bros have roped in casting directors Susan Shopmaker (Mean Girls), Michelle Allen (Dead Like Me) and RDC Casting (The Shipping News). There have also been postings on industry audition site Showfax. The roles have been listed under vague code names like “Male Option #1� and the sides posted are scenes from Sidney Limet’s Networ, Rob Reiner’s Few Good Men and Gus Van Sant’s Good Will Hunting. With two of the casting offices being in Canada, theres an indication that some of the filming may take place up north. Vancouver is also the place where Smallville tapes, which could spark further rumours that Tom Welling will be playing Superman. In the new map pack are four new areas, these are Bullet Marsh, Process, garden and Subway. As Gears of War is the most popular Xbox Live game, it was only a matter of time before Microsoft would reward their four million players with a new map pack.
