Shoot ‘Em Up 2 possible - the first film isn’t even out yet! 2007-08-13 07:02:11 Shoot ‘Em Up hasn’t even hit cinemas yet but sequel talks have started already! It’s not just talk though, apparently writer/director Michael Davis has already penned the script. Talking about the new script he says, “I’ve written another crazy wild funny action script that could be ‘Shoot ‘Em Up’ if I made a few alterations. You’re not going to see me be the guy that genre hops because my favorite genre is the action movie. Perseid meteor shower August 13 2007: My personal viewing 2007-08-13 07:00:05 Oh my god I was truly amazed by the Perseid meteor shower early this morning of August 13 2007, my personal viewing of this spectacular array of what I would call “fireworks in the sky” left me awed with my jaw dropped and oh yeah blooming tired. I sat up myself with my wife till 4am this morning and totalled 43 sightings altogether. I am in Yateley, Hampshire, England and to tell you the truth had no idea that we were expecting the Perseid meteor shower until I saw it on the news. So like a mad man decided to go outside in my garden at 11pm and decided to watch what was supposed to be the most spectacular sighting, well my god the word “supposed” automatically became “reality” I really thought in my head I would not see all this (I was wrong of course). In his latest column (The Bourne Buffoonery), O’Reilly calls the film “Unpatriotic”. “I knew this movie was trouble when I read the reviews. Almost all the critics liked it. David Gordon Green’s Snow Angels has a release date 2007-08-13 06:35:49 David Gordon Green’s Snow Angels wasn’t particularly well received at the Sundance Film Festival this year when it has it’s world premiere, but there have been some great responses to it which left critics wondering when it will have a release date. The film is an adaptation about a married couple who have split. Sam Rockwell plays a born again father who is not yet over the break-up. Kate Bekinsale plays the mother who is having an affair with one of her co-worker’s husband. She works at an all American Chinese restaurant where she works with a nerdy kid she used to baby-sit named Arthur. What’s interesting about the film is that it’s not mostly seen from the eye of Kate Bekinsale or Sam Rockwell’s character, but Arthur’s who is mainly a side character. We still haven’t had a release date for Snow Angels until now, finally! The movie will be released in one or two cities on March 7th 2008 and expand from there based on the response. Super Smash Bros Brawl Dojo: Pokemon Trainer Confirmed Plus video trailers 2007-08-13 06:35:42 Now this is great news for you Mario fans and Pokemon fans, oh yes Pokemon Trainer has now been confirmed as the new character in the awesome Super Smash Bros. Brawl, this news comes from Smash Bros. Dojo which we think is awesome. The site that is linked is the official website so they must be right we say. You will be able to see updated screenshots of the playable fighter, the only thing that niggles my brain is that he does not do any of the fighting himself (bummer) but he does in fact have Squirtle, Charizard and Ivysaur to do all the fighting for him and this is why he is the trainer (do you see). The Pokemon trainer does on the other hand have his hand in the match with a Pokemon Change move which allows you to switch between creatures, oh another thing, by swapping the monsters will NOT make your health bar any larger because they all share the same meter. Russell Crowe to play baddie in new Star Trek film? 2007-08-13 06:21:12 It has been reported that JJ Abrams wants to cast Russell Crowe as the villain in the upcoming Star Trek movie. Russell Crowe isn’t the only star JJ Abrams wants to appear in the movie, JJ Abrams has also roped Tom Cruise into playing a cameo role in the film. It’s not the first time that the series has tried to cast big names, Jude Law was asked to be in “Star Trek: Nemesis” in 2002, Tom Hanks was approached for the role of Zephram Cochrane in “Star Trek: First Contact” in 1996 and Eddie Murphy’s name was put forward for the role of a professor concerned with UFO’s who spots the de-cloaking Klingon ship at the Super Bowl in “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home” in 86. Whether Crowe will accept the role or not is another story but I think he’d be perfect for the part! We’ll let you know more as we get it. The DVD will feature 12 original episodes from the 80’s classic animated television series. Each episode follows the antics from the pizza-loving turtles Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael as they protect the city from the likes of the evil Shredder, Krang and the foot soldiers. The DVD boasts awesome 3-D lenticular packaging which makes sure this is definitely one to have in your DVD collection. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles new television show airs on Cartoon Network daily, pulling in more than 1.2 million viewers. Nintendo Vs Apple: Lets have it, who will win? 2007-08-13 06:11:15 Nintendo Vs Apple: Oh this should be fun. You have had giants Sony and Microsoft going head to head in the next generation console war with Nintendo going head to head with them which has been pretty exciting but no where as exciting as this. Big boys Nintendo will go head to head with even bigger boys Apple (oh man let the fight begin, so I am a sucker for a war between two massive companies). It has been said that Nintendo and giants Apple may be having a showdown in the handheld gaming industry market. Nintendo have moved in for a patent for a stunning tilt sensitivity technology on the DS which come on will be pretty cool and of which will make the DS into some sort of portable Wii, but and a big but this new set up seem s to be pretty similar to that of the motion based accelerometer in the iPhone and Apple are too working very fast to add games to their hyped phone. Third Teaser Poster Revealed for JJ Abrams Star Trek 2007-08-13 05:58:58 Another teaser poster for JJ Abrams Star Trek has been revealed at VegasCon 07,this takes the total number of teaser posters to three, quite a respectable number but I’m sure there’ll be more to come. The logo on the poster is the same as the one which premiered on t-shirts that Paramount handed out at Comic-Con earlier this month. This is my favourite of the posters yet, it looks like a throw-back to the glory days of Star Trek which makes me think that this movie is definitely going to do Star Trek justice. London Stock Market Recovers After Mortgage and Home Loan Scares 2007-08-13 05:48:51 After over £50 billion was wiped of the value of the stock market in London, shares have begun to recover this morning after central bank launched massive cash injection operations to ease liquidity problems and support the market. The FTSE 100 share index in London is currently up 102.20 or 1.69% at 6,140.50. The FTSE index has reached 6160 in the first few hours of trading but those gains have eased slightly. However is the crisis over? Market analyst Sam Kirtley of The Gold Prices Newsletter thinks that this may only just be the beginning: “We believe that mainstream markets are heading for a major downturn as the economy heads into a serious recession in the coming years. The real estate bubble has been over inflated by credit and its poised for a crash.
