Nicole Oring in Commute: daily drive from Orange County to Downtown Los Angeles 2007-08-15 06:41:48 Commute follows a commuter (no, seriously!) as goes about his daily drive from Orange County to Downtown Los Angeles along Interstate 5 Freeway and California Highway 101. During his commute, we see him field phone calls from his office (well phone calls from his sexy assistant, played by Nicole Oring), deals with clients and the pains and aggravations of the most horrific traffic on the West Coast. The film takes a sarcastic look at coping with the ever growing problem of too many cars and not enough road. The commuter finds time to worry, relax and contemplate his life while extending various philosophical views, all during his drive! The film was shot entirely on location on the freeways, in traffic as the filmmakers didn’t want to use CGI or green screens. They drove over 1000 miles during the course of the shoot to make sure they got the shots they needed. Do we need Blu-ray Discs: OH YES, Heavenly Sword on PS3 alone has 10GB of sound 2007-08-15 06:20:52 Now to all you Blu-ray disk haters, who says that Blu-ray is not needed! And we must say this loud and clear. We found out via Develop Magazine that the PS3 game Heavenly Sword has well over 10GB of sound alone with about 4500 different lines of dialogue and 3 ½ hours of music. Show me a normal disc that can cater this. This really tells you that we do in fact need Blu-ray, 10GB and that is without the graphics, art, textures and so on, you get my drift. Call of Duty 4 also runs at 60FPS with full AA on PS3: Same as 360 2007-08-15 06:07:55 We have seen over at the PS3 Forum that a developer that is behind the brilliant looking FPS has killed the rumor that Call of Duty 4 on the Sony Playstation 3 would run on at a boring 30FPS with like no anti-aliasing, now this seems pretty cool considering the Xbox 360 version is already confirmed that is runs at 60FPS with AA, this is good news because all PS3 fans will say 1 up to the PS3. You know what there are many people that hate the PS3 but you know what, I am seriously making my way over to the PS3 because as time goes on it seems to be getting better and better. Not just Mattel toys: So much stuff made in China, expect more recalls 2007-08-15 06:04:41 We all know that Mattel toys have now issued a huge toy recall, following reports of lead being used on the toys which could lead to lead poisoning. This is a massive blow to the toy industry, but who is at fault for this. The problem is most of the toys today are made in China, 80 percent in fact and we could very well see more recalls happening soon. Many believe that China is at fault for making below average goods, but many believe that Mattel are at fault for forcing china into lowering prices in order to win the contract for making the toys. The problem there is Chinese companies need to cut corners in order to meet the low prices. But then again there is a third culprit in all this, and that is us the consumer as we always want to pay the lowest price possible for our products. The thing is now we could be very well see many more recalls from China, as they make more than just toys, we are in for some very worrying times. Lindsay Lohan Sued For Car Chase 2007-08-15 06:00:17 It has been reported that Lindsay Lohan has been sued for allegedly chasing a car through Los Angeles last month by the woman who was a passenger in the other car. Tracie Rice has said that the actions of Lindsay could have caused her injury or death and is seeking unspecified damages for being inflicted with emotional distress. Lindsay was arrested on July 24 which was the second time she had been charged with drunken driving this year. In a statement from Tracie read by her LA attorney it said: “What Miss Lohan did that night was extremely dangerous and reprehensible. Cadbury Eggs Company Schweppes Melts Amid Profits Gloom 2007-08-15 05:26:47 Its more bad news for Cadbury as the company announced that higher milk prices will badly affect their margins and the £7 billion sale of their US drinks operation may not happen. This news saw £760 wiped from shares in Cadbury Schweppes recently. Higher milk prices will affect Cadbury as the company is famous for using a “glass and a half” of full-cream milk in every half pound of Dairy Milk chocolate. Cadbury’s share of the confectionery market in the UK dropped by a percentage point. This was mainly due the a mass recall of Cadbury Eggs. The Cadbury Eggs did not have the proper labels printed on them and as there was a mistake in the printing of nut allergy information on the Cadbury Eggs labels at Easter. The Sony Playstation 2 and the Nintendo Wii will be the next recipients of another new game starring the blue hedgehog “Sonic”. The new game is called Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity which is the sequel to the boring Sonic Riders way back in 2006. In The Valley of Elah: 15 pictures released 2007-08-15 05:25:59 15 new photo from Paul Haggis’ new film In The Valley of Elah have been released by Warner Independent. Paul Haggis has been the brains behind Crash, Casino Royal and Letters From Iwo Jima so we know this movie is going to be good. The movie is inspired by the real-life case of a retired Army Veteran (played by Tommy Lee Jones) who discovers his own son was killed by his on platoon members after they returned stateside but couldn’t shake battlefield mentality.
