We now have the youtube video with more information regarding the former two-time All-Star, Jose Offerman, who turned extremely violent at a league game Tuesday night. Offerman charged the mound with his bat and swung at least twice, striking the opposing pitcher and catcher, we believe was actually because of a fastball. Earthquake Strikes Lima, Peru, Hawaii Tsunami Warnings Follow 2007-08-15 21:38:04 A magnitude 7.9 earthquake has very recently striked the coast of Peru, roughly about ninety miles south of the capital Lima. There have been many reports of homes and businesses being destroyed, including many (unconfirmed) lives taken. The fear of a tsunami is now in the air with Hawaii being on alert. The heaviest damage is said to have occurred in Arequipa, known as Peru’s “white city” because of its great architecture and churches. Unfortunately, television pictures did show one of the towers of the city’s cathedral had collapsed, scattering rubble in the street, and another was very badly damaged. The BBC’s South America correspondent Tom Gibb says “the earthquake struck in the afternoon, giving the rescue services only a few hours of daylight.” Peru was devastated with a horrific 7.7 magnitude earthquake in 1970 that killed approximately 70,000 people, let’s hope this one is nowhere near as catastrophic. Inmate Jonathan Lee Riches sent this handwritten lawsuit seeking this amount of money from Michael Vick who is an NFL quarterback. The suit was filed in the US District Court in Richmond on the 23rd of July. Inmate Jonathan Lee Riches claims that NFL quarterback Michael Vick stole his pit bulls and of which he sold them on eBay to use the money to purchase missiles from the Iran Government. If he wins the lawsuit he is in for a massive $63 quintillion which he wants sent to him in gold and silver to the front gate of the Williamsburg Federal Correctional Facility in South Carolina. Thousands of fans flock to Graceland for the 30th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley 2007-08-15 17:31:10 As it is now the 30th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley the king of rock n roll, Graceland is bracing itself as tens of thousands of fans flock the home of the late Elvis. People from all over the world will descend on Graceland; many were already their last night holding a candlelit vigil. The sad fact in everybody’s mind though is the fact that the owner of Elvis Presley’s estate plans to make it into some kind of Disney Park. Robert Sillerman purchased an 85 percent stake in the estate, which he paid $100 million for, Lisa Marie Presley; Elvis’s daughter owns the other 15 percent of Elvis Presley Enterprises. Sillerman plans to spend $250 million on renovating Graceland, he will also replace Heartbreak Hotel which is nearby. Deborah Wahl Meyer joins Chrysler to become VP and chief marketing officer 2007-08-15 17:08:25 Deborah Wahl Meyer who was a top marketing executive at Lexus, part of the Toyota Motor Corp, is to join Chrysler LLC. Deborah will become the new VP and also their chief marketing officer, a job that she will fill on the 28th August. 44 year old Meyer has now works for the Toyota Motor Corp for the past six years, which see her recently take over the role as vice president of marketing for Lexus. Deborah seemed the perfect choice for Chrysler as she has worked for other automakers, such as the Ford Motor CO, and also Mazda. Deborah Wahl Meyer, is to replace George Murphy who resigned way back in may after a six year service with Chrysler, he too was a former Ford executive. Chrysler has been searching for a few months to replace Murphy, and believe that Meyer is the perfect choice to take over where George left off. Countrywide Financial Corp: Merrill Lynch & Co says bankruptcy possible 2007-08-15 16:45:48 Countrywide Financial Corp, the biggest mortgage lender in the US could very well be on the verge of bankruptcy, that is what Merrill Lynch & Co have said. Countrywide Financial Corp’s stock fell 13 percent, that is the largest drop since the 1987 stock market crash. The company could very well face effective insolvency if Countrywide investors forced them to sell the assets at a depressed price, either that or investors could lose their confidence in Countrywide’s ability to raise cash. There are worrying times head for this mortgage lender, as they have now lost at least half of their share value this year alone. Right my point is yes I can understand little consoles having a clip on display so you can lug it around, you know say the size of a Nintendo Wii, but a Playstation 3 (let me think). Nevover are the ones that think that there are many gamers out there that are willing to lug a console around with a screen attached, they are apparently planning on offer a clip on screen to the PS3, it is unlikely that this will ever be released but hey let me entertain you anyway. The screen will be about 7 inches with a 480×234 resolution with a high refresh rate, it will also feature a pair of 1 watt speakers and dual headphone jacks. Baby Bib with lead still for sale in Toys R Us: No Recall for bibs issued 2007-08-15 14:52:26 Two separate have done tests on bibs that are being sold in Toy R US stores and their findings show that they have an high level of lead in them, but what is more alarming about these bibs with lead in them is the fact that the Feds have not issued a recall for them yet. These baby bibs are made from vinyl and are made in China, there seems to be a lot of recall for Chinese made products of late, like Mattel Toys, and Toothpaste. However there are now deep concerns from consumers as these baby bibs have not been recalled.
