Shannon Funk Britney Spear’s Former Assistant Served With Papers 2007-08-16 08:00:21 The former assistant of Britney Spears former Shannon Funk has been served with court papers in relation to Britney’s custody battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Shannon was fired as Britney’s sidekick last month was handed the deposition subpoena after arriving at Long Beach Airport in California on Tuesday night. Shannon is the latest person to be served with a subpoena, following Britney’s cousin Alli Sims and her bodyguard Daimon Shippen, who were served with the legal documents earlier this week where will it end? Shannon was served with a subpoena in Kevin Federline’s child custody battle, so she will be testifying if that case goes to trial. Google are again challenging the dominance of Microsoft by releasing StarOffice which will complete with Microsoft Office, but Star Office has one major advantage. Its completely free. This is how Google becomes so successful. It makes better software and offers it for free. Why fight internet piracy and illegal downloads? Why not use the technology to your advantage? This is what Google does and this it what it is doing with Star Office which consumer will be able to download for free. Star Office is way better than Google Docs and Spreadsheets, which was a lightweight application. StarOffice is a full blown competitor to Microsoft and before it was included in the Google Pack, it cost $70 from Sun Mircosystems. John Elwin: Friends try to solve his disappearance 2007-08-16 05:15:25 Have you ever been asked the question, what you would do if a friend went missing while exploring another country. Well that is what the friends of John Elwin had to face as the adventurer went missing while Philippines. It was a slow start to the search as Elwin’s girlfriend took two weeks before she phoned and asked John’s friend Luis Soltren where her boyfriend could be. Soltren, was in fact a good friend to John as he spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of his time in the search for his friend. The search which took then to the Philippines was a tough one as they had to conduct a search over mountains and jungles while trying to avoid rebels. One place where they went searching for John was only 120 miles north of Manila, but it took them almost 8 hours just to drive to that location. Amy Adams and Susan Sarandon star in Enchanted: New Movie Poster Released 2007-08-16 04:48:10 The poster for Disney’s half animated/ live-action crossover Enchanted has been released. Back in March, early poster art was released but this recent poster is more likely to be very similar to the official poster when it is released. The film is set in an animated fairy tale world, where a young girl meets and falls in love with the handsome Prince of her dreams. The news of the romance makes it’s way to the Prince’s mother, the Evil Queen and boy is she not happy about it! The Evil Queen uses her black magic to send the girl hurtling out of the animated world into the one place in the universe where there is no true love: Modern Day Manhattan. The now-real girl has to survive in New York City and find her way back to her true love. The movie has an impressive cast, with Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and Susan Sarandon starring. X Factor Faked Scenes In New Series 2007-08-16 04:39:45 It has been reported that X Factor bosses have been forced to admit they faked scenes in the new series of the TV show. It’s emerged that some of the action was staged to make good telly including a discussion between Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne about bringing Louis Walsh back onto the show. At a press launch for the show yesterday, ITV’s director of entertainment Paul Jackson said that producers had used pick up shots to film judges’ reactions to Brian Friedman’s departure from the show and Louis Walsh’s subsequent reinstatement. New U.S Movie Poster and Production Photo for SAW 4 2007-08-16 04:03:23 The International poster for Saw 4 was released last month and it was pretty gruesome. Now, the poster has been Americanized. What does that mean for the poster? It’s become bigger, louder and more in your face. The international poster (above) showed a mans head in a weighing scale which was scary enough, but now the Americanized poster has zoomed in on the weight scales and the head of the man so, lucky for us, we get to see it in more detail! Tropical Storm Erin brings torrential rainfall: Texas will not face hurricane 2007-08-16 03:51:46 It is expected that Tropical Storm Erin will not form into a hurricane as is passes over Texas, which is why only some vacationers packed up, while others decided to sit out the torrential rainfall that Tropical Storm Erin brings is bringing. Some people have been saying “It’s not a hurricane. I ain’t worried. If they say don’t evacuate, I’m not going to worry about it.” Gov. Rick Perry has ordered the National Guard to head towards Harlingen and Corpus Christi areas. Perry said that he called in the National Guard as the areas that the storm is going to bombarded areas that have been hit before. But Rick said that there was no need for an evacuation as it will only be heavy rainfall that they have to put up with. There are still three and a half months left in the hurricane season, and the past few Tropical Storm Erin, Tropical Storm Dean, and Hurricane Flossie have all been a wake-up call.
