Ryan Reynolds to Star as The Flash in Justice League of America Movie 2007-08-21 07:26:57 It has been rumoured for some time now that Ryan Reynolds is to play the popular DC Comics superhero The Flash in a big screen adaptation. The project fell through but Reynolds has now revealed to MTV that he might put on the red tights for the Justice League of America movie: “‘The Flash’ isn’t dead at all. There’s talk of it being a JLA movie, the Justice League having them all together. And then there’s other talk of doing a ‘Flash’ movie with [director] Shawn Levy,” Reynolds continued “[it] might, yeah. I don’t really know how much I’m allowed to talk about that stuff. But I’m sure they’ll figure out something. It’s no secret that they have a JLA script and it’s a project that’s in development – the contents of which, who knows. We’ll see. Watch Ewan McGregor and Collin Farrell in the Trailer for Cassandra’s Dream 2007-08-21 07:18:56 The trailer for Woody Allen’s next film, Cassandra’s Dream is now online. The film tells the story of two Cockney brothers (played by Collin Farrell and Ewan McGregor) in south London and their relationship with a young woman (played by Hayley Atwell) who lands in London on her search for fortune. When one of the men fall in love with her, she becomes aware of her power to attract the opposite sex. She uses her new found powers to lead the two brothers into crime and creates a dangerous rivalry between the two men. The movie premiered at a film festival in Spain a couple of months back and has been extremely well received (it scored a 9.1 on imdb) so I’m definitely looking forward to the release of this film. Hurricane Dean weakens to a Category 3 storm from a 5: only hours after hitting Mexico 2007-08-21 07:13:45 Only hours ago Hurricane Dean was a Category 5 storm as it slammed in to Mexico, but now it has now weakened in to a Category 3. The storm plowed into the coast of Mexico with the highest category which is a 5, the winds approached near 165mph and were heading for the Yucatan peninsula, but now winds have slowed to 125mph. It now seems as if Hurricane Dean has weakened as it finished pounding Mexico, and the people near the Yucatan peninsula have something to be thankful for as their onslaught for Hurricane Dean will not be as intense as they first thought. But we have to remember that this could in fact be the calm before the storm, as hurricanes do have a tendency to weaken the buildup strength one more. Pro Beach US Volleyball favourites Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh ended up being totally stunned by the volleyball being played by Elaine Youngs and Nicole Branagh as the supposedly “best” volleyball duo at the event lost 15-21, 21-19, 16-14. This is the first time this has happening in the sport since the Paris Grand Slam in July 2006 May-Treanor and Walsh were both gold medallists at the Athens Olympics in 2004 but this lost ended a streak of 21 consecutive championship match victories. Mystery Shows Us How It’s Done On The Pickup Artist 2007-08-21 06:34:14 The Pickup Artist is the latest reality show to hit our television screens. The show follows eight geeky, mojo-challenged guys as they attempt to gain some lady-snagging skills with the help of none other than smoothness guru Mystery and his man-servants Matador and J-Dog. In the first episode we see the guys for the first time and we get a little insight into their background. We meet Pradeep, the over-talker and Scott, the stutterer, amongst the six others. The boys get put top the test almost immediately when they have to meet girls in a bar. As predicted, the boys crash and burn, with a little pinch of humiliation from Mystery, Matador and J-Dog who slide in and show the boys how its done. The film sets a fictional love story against the historical tragedy of the Mountain Meadows Massacre of September 11, 1857, when a wagon train of emigrants was attacked by a group of Mormon militiamen and Paiute Indians and more than 120 men, women and children were killed. The film’s cast includes Jon Voight, Terence Stamp and Jon Gries.
