Own an Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii: Do I buy a Sony PS3 for Blu-ray 2007-08-21 10:03:30 I brought an Xbox 360 as soon as they came out a long time ago and although it’s a known fact that they have overheating problems mine has never broke down, but it does get hot and is very noisy. As I have a nice big collection of Xbox 360 games I will not change console now, but I did buy a Nintendo Wii to see what all the fuss was about…I know why now. While the Nintendo Wii is not my main games system for games that I play on my own, it does take over the gaming when we have people over. The Nintendo Wii is amazing for groups of people and I have never known another gaming system so good at getting everyone involved at all ages, although the graphics are a bit rubbish it is the games console of choice when I have people over. Now here is my problem: If you were in my situation and owned the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, would you buy a Sony PS3 for just Blu-ray and Playstation 3 games that are not on the Xbox 360? Joseph Kosinski to Direct Logan’s Run Remake 2007-08-21 09:38:49 Joseph Kosinski, commercial director, has signed on to make his feature film debut with a big screen remake of Logan’s Run. Bryan Singer was originally attached to the film, getting as far as pre-visualising it before getting pulled away to make Superman Returns. Logan’s Run was a classic 1970’s Sci-Fi film that did what it said on the tin. It wasn’t afraid to go all out with the Sci-Fi, unlike most films today. The film is based on 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson. The plot involved a dystopian future society where population and the consumption of resources is managed and maintained in equilibrium by ‘the simple expediency of killing everyone who reaches thirty’. Those who try to escape their destiny are known as Runners and are hunted down by operatives known as Sandmen. The main character is Logan, a Sandman who makes a run for it. Natalie Portman to Star in Wes Anderson’s Short Film 2007-08-21 09:14:25 Wes Anderson’s latest film, The Darjeeling Limited, is to be accompanied by a 12-minute short called Hotel Chevalier. This is said to be a prequel to the main feature. Now I can reveal that the short film will star two very big names. Natalie Portman and Jason Schwartzman apparently star in the short film. Portman also features briefly in the main film, The Darjeeling Limited. The short film takes place in one room of a French hotel (Hotel Chevalier no less!) and serves as “a short epilogue of one heartbreaking history of love and the prologue of the travel told in ‘The Darjeeling Limited.” Hotel Chevalier will screen in the upcoming Venice Film Festival. Top Party Schools: West Virginia University is No. 1 2007-08-21 09:04:17 The Princeton’s Review’s annual list of the Top 20 party schools has been released and the Number One spot has been filled by West Virginia University. I’m sure the school administrators aren’t in the mood to party after this news! The school has made the list seven times in 15 years, despite the school’s efforts to diminish underage drinking and the rowdy behaviour that goes with it. The University hasn’t taken the top spot since 1997 and was number 3 last year - there have obviously been a whole lot of partying going on!
