It seems The Squid and the Whale star Jesse Eisenberg is making a splash in Hollywood at the moment. The star has been picked to star in SuperBad director Greg Mottola’s next film, Adventureland.
Eisenberg, talking to MTV about the film has said, “I play a lot of directors’ awkward stages in their lives,” when asked if the film will be on the same scale as SuperBad, he replied, “SuperBad.” “It’s probably closer [in tone] to ‘The Daytrippers.’”
The film is based on Mottola’s own personal experiences at the Long Island amusement park and is set in the 1980’s. In the movie, we follow the story of a college graduate who was ready for his gap year in Europe before starting Grad School until his father is laid off, making him stuck at home in Long Island, New York. Ryanair Wants Industry-Wide Change With The Way Travel Insurance Is Calculated
2007-08-23 05:10:54
Ryanair is an Irish airline with it’s biggest operational base situated in London Stansted Airport. It is Europe’s largest low-cost carrier and is one of the World’s largest and most successful airlines. Ryanair is now taking on travel insurers in it’s latest bid for lower cost flights.
Ryanair is now pushing for an industry-wide change in the way that companies calculate travel insurance, so premiums are based on the performance of individual airlines.
Standing up for its customers, Ryanair are claiming that their passengers are being unfairly penalised when they take insurance against lost luggage and cancelled flights. Apparently Ryanair, with its lower rate of problems mean customers are a lower insurance risk and should ultimately pay less.
Writing directly to the Association of British Insurers insisting on change, Ryanair has claimed that it only loses 0.4 bags per 1,000 flyers compared to the astonishing 28 bags per 1000 flyers for British Airways.

USA crush Venezuela in FIBA Americas tournament
2007-08-23 05:05:58
The USA beat Venezuela in a game that saw Carmelo Anthony score 17 points, and Kobe Bryant 14 points, ending in a 112-69 victory on Wednesday night. Lebron James, who finally made his much anticipated international debut in the opener of the FIBA Americas Tournament had several words on their success, “We shared the ball well. We did everything that we needed to do to win a basketball game.”
Michael Redd also scored 17 points, and Phoneix Suns player Amara Stoudemire racked up another 16. The USA were firmly in control from half way through, when the score was 54-34. With this performance on the mind, it is suprising the USA were even required to qualify, but since they did not win the World Championship, it was necessary.
So can the USA go all the way in the FIBA Americas tournament? Keep checking back for updates.

In 2005 a million people lack health insurance in New York
2007-08-23 05:05:15
It has been reported that around a million adults in New York City lacked health insurance in 2005 even though most were employed.
The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene report also found that one in five of New York’s 8 million residents, including 600,000 with health insurance, lacked a regular doctor in 2005, the last year for which statistics were available.
The Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas R. Frieden said “If you don’t have a regular doctor, chances are you’re not getting the care you need.”
It has been said that Health officials are not sure why so many employed people were uninsured, but they noted that the cost of health care is high and continues to rise and that not every employer provides insurance.
Adults 65 and older who had regular providers and insurance were more likely to get flu shots and be immunized against pneumonia than those who didn’t.
What I do not understand is that surely it is better to have health insurance then not ...

“We welcome the announcement from Paramount and DreamWorks Animation SKG,” said Yoshihide Fujii, Corporate Senior Vice President and President & CEO of Toshiba’s Digital Media Network Company.

Justice league of America: Motion Capture Replaces Live Action?
2007-08-23 04:38:52
Everyday it seems there is a new story surrounding the Justice League of America movie. So what do we know so far? Well, Warner Bros has a script and definitely want to make a movie. It’s rumoured George Miller is attached to direct, and Brandon Routh and Christian Bale are unlikely to be in the movie. So what’s new? Well today it seems that the film could actually be created using motion capture/performance, the same technology used for Polar Express and the upcoming Beowulf.
Well, this makes a little more sense, as this technique would be better received by mass-audiences but the downside is, the film wouldn’t be ready until 2010 or 2011! This new deadline will give sufficient breathing room for Batman and Superman sequels.
Personally, I think that, unlike with Polar Express, a Justice League of America movie would suit motion capture. The superheroes in the film are bound to have some massive sequences that would involve a lot of special effects on a live-action film.

Venture Vehicles receive $6 Million in Venture Capital for their three wheeled VentureOne
2007-08-23 04:32:29
Venture Vehicles are the company who are working on the three wheeled VentureOne vehicle, have just received a massive boost for their program. They have now received $6 million from NGEN Partners for Series A venture capital funding. Venture Vehicles have been very clever with the decision with going for a three-wheeled vehicle as the engineering process is easier and cheaper, and the automotive safety compliance is less strict.
If the VentureOne had four wheels then it would have to go through a series of crash tests, and would have to have many safety systems such as airbags and side impact protection. But as the vehicle only has three wheels it is classed as a motorcycle, the result is a lighter and cheaper vehicle.

Jenna Jameson Has A Breast Reduction
2007-08-23 02:37:22
It has been reported that Adult film star Jenna Jameson’s weight isn’t the only thing that has shrunk. Jenna has apparently had her infamous implants removed two weeks ago going from D-cup to a C-cup.
Jenna said that “When I had implants, I felt uncomfortable. I would be shy at the beach. I know it sounds funny, but I’d wear high-necked clothes – unless I was at an adult-film convention. So I thought, why don’t I be who I am and get my real ones back?”
She went on to say that “Even for women with naturally large boobs, getting a reduction is so freeing. I feel like I can stand up straighter…before, when I jogged, I had to hold my boobs. I looked like I was molesting myself!”
Jenna has also admitted that she is 100% done with porn forever.
Do you think that she looks better?

Kate Moss Takes Pete Doherty Back
2007-08-23 02:06:59
It has been reported that Kate Moss has taken her ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty back. Kate and Pete have been seen going in and out of the same hotel in London for the past week.
This next bit of news has really annoyed me if it is true because it has been reported that Pete Doherty’s cat had to be rescued by vets after accidentally swallowing cocaine.
The cat was apparently rushed to a clinic after felling sick and tests found that it had ingested blow.
The reason this annoyed me is because I have just rescued 2 cats from a rescue centre and both of them were neglected, I hope that the vet has took the cat off Pete he should not be aloud animals can you imagine if he had children with drugs around.
Do you think that Kate should have taken him back?

Britney Spears To Duet With Justin Timberlake
2007-08-23 01:39:17
It has been reported that Britney Spears is To Duet with Justin Timberlake which is a decision that’s gotten the head honchos at her record label, Jive, really worried.
Britney and Justin were set to duet on a track that would have been produced by Timbaland at his studio in Virginia Beach.
Music insiders say that Justin wrote the duet specifically for the ex-pop tart, and even though they wouldn’t have been in the studio together, Justin’s voice would have been dubbed in with hers later.
It was said that “Timbaland set aside a week out of his crazy schedule to do this and then, just before she was supposed to fly out, Britney abruptly cancelled the session and refused to do the song.
As supportative as they’re trying to be, the suits at her record label are concerned that Britney doesn’t have a hit song to perform at the VMAs and she’s basically going to crash and burn on stage.
Do you think that she will be able to make a come back on her own?

Gwen Stefani Concert In Kuala Lumpur
2007-08-23 01:27:39
Gwen Stefani finally took the stage in front of 7,000 fans in Kuala Lumpur.
Gwen first got some heat from conservative students that were against the concert because of the singer’s costumes and behavior on stage claiming “Her video clips promoting the event are too obscene.”
But Gwen managed to please concert goers when she chose to wear a series of different flesh-covering outfits.
Gwen took the stage in a short-sleeved shirt and black-and-white striped hot-pants over a black leotard, with black gloves right up to the elbows. She changed into equally modest/covered up outfits for each song as she ran performed some of her hits.
The Government rules in Malaysia forbid female performers from jumping, shouting, or throwing objects out into the audience.
Gwen said that “I’ve been in the music industry for 20 years and this is the first time that I’m facing opposition from people who have misunderstood me. I’m not a bad girl.”
