Betty Thomas Is To Direct The New Dallas Movie
2007-08-24 06:55:14
To be fair, not many people are that desperate for the Dallas movie but the plans for the film is steaming ahead! There have been more directors attached to Dallas than JR has had hats and now it has picked up another.
Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde) dropped out over casting differences and was replaced by Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham). Chadha has now been replaced - for unspecified reasons - by Betty Thomas. Betty Thomas has worked on many great adaptation of TV series (The Brady Bunch Movie, I Spy, Doctor Doolittle).
Does this mean that the movie has abandoned its ideas of being a drama? After all, with Betty Thomas on board the film could become a full-blown comedy. The script is even being re-written by Hot Rod scriptwriter Pam Brady.
The movie still doesn’t have a complete cast. Last year it was announced that the cast would include John Travolta as JR, Luke Wilson as Bobby, Jennifer Lopez as Sue Ellen and Shirley Maclaine as Miss Ellie.
None of the cast were confirme ...

G.I Joe Live-Action Movie Has Been Confirmed
2007-08-24 06:32:23
The rumour of a G.I Joe movie has been circulating the internet for a while now but thankfully someone has now confirmed it. Variety is reporting that The Mummy series director Stephen Sommers has signed on to direct a big screen, live-action G.I. Joe movie.
The studio is hiring a writer as soon as possible with rumours that it could be Stuart Beattie (Pirates of the Caribbean, Collateral, Derailed, 30 Days of Night) who will get the job. He certainly has the talent for it. Paramount is fast-tracking the project for a close summer 2009 release, meaning production will start this February.
The film, which would include characters Cobra Commander and Serpentor, has the potential to be a fun army action film unlike we’ve seen before. At the moment, we’ve seen loads of war films that are set in Iraq, so it’ll be great to have something different.
Casting announcements are bound to begin soon and as soon as we see names, it’ll be easy to see what kind of film they are going for. ...

Nintendo Wii has now sold more game consoles than the Xbox 360: PS3 in third
2007-08-24 06:13:55
Although we have known for a while now that the Nintendo Wii would eventually sell more game consoles than the Xbox 360, Microsoft must be kicking themselves right now as they did have a huge head start. Although the final numbers are not official yet, early sales figures show that the Nintendo Wii is in first place with the amount of game consoles sold worldwide the figure is 10.57 million, compared to the Microsoft Xbox 360 with 10.51 million units sold. Way down in third is the Sony PS3 with 4.32 million next generation games consoles sold.
Sony should not feel too bad about these speculated sales figures as they have not been on the market as long as the Wii and Xbox 360. We do not know when will get the official sales figures, but once we do you will be the first to know.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver has issues: is yours still working
2007-08-24 05:57:14
It seems that the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver has now become a widespread issue; more and more users are having error issues with this Wireless Receiver attachment. The problem does look as though it is getting worse, as more people on many forums and review sites are all complaining about this now useless piece of equipment.
The problem is that people are using their Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver only to find that it is sucking the life out of every other USB peripheral, so when you plug your Microsoft gadget all other items that have been plugged into the USB port stops working.
Also another issue is the fact that when you try and speak to Microsoft’s tech support, they do not do much in the way of solving this issue.

So have you had any of these issues with your Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver?

Bruce Campbell keeps Paul Giamatti Waiting For Bubba Ho-Tep Sequel
2007-08-24 05:56:44
Paul Giamatti is one hot actor right now, but it seems that his name alone can’t greenlight this particular movie. It seems that the production company are waiting on b-movie legend Bruce Campbell. I hear you screaming Why?! Well it’s because the film is Bubba Nosferatu, a prequel to the cult comedy Bubba Ho-Tep.
Giamatti, talking to Rotten Tomatoes has said, “I would really like to do that […] Did you ever see Bubba Ho-Tep? Great movie. And that director [Don Coscarelli], I love that guy’s movies. All the Phantasm movies and stuff. But we are trying to do it.”
The announcement of a sequel was meant to be an end of credits joke after Bubba Ho-Tep but the film is now a possibility due to positive feedback from fans. The film seems like a fantastic idea but the only thing holding it back is Bruce. Campbell is yet to sign on, but I’m sure he can’t be that busy!
Giamitti continued, “Bruce Campbell was waffling around about whether he wants to play Elvis or not again. ...

All cars to have side airbags: new regulation from the federal government
2007-08-24 05:34:03
A new regulation on cars mandates that all new vehicles are to have side airbags; this will be forced in as a new regulation by the federal government. Not only will side airbags become standard, but also how much area the bags will have to cover if they are deployed.
The reason for the law for airbags to cover more area is due to the fact that some side airbags deploy far too low, this is very dangerous when you are involved in an accident with an SUV as it is much higher than a standard car. Automakers have already set themselves a deadline by 2009, which they imposed themselves. The government hopes that by the change in this rule, over 1,000 lives could be saved every year.

President Bush: Iraq Will Not Be The Next Vietnam
2007-08-24 05:09:32
Recently US President George Bush has taken a lot of heavy criticism from Democrats wanting an early withdrawal of troops from Iraq. Ealier this week Sen. Hilary Rodham Clinton said the troops in Iraq should be honoured by bringing them home.
President George Bush defended the coalition forces in Iraq, and stating that removing the troops too soon would cause a bloodbath similar to that in southeast Asia after the US retreat from Vietnam.
“Whatever your position is on that debate (of US intervention), one unmistakable legacy of Vietnam is that the price of America’s withdrawal was paid by millions of innocent citizens whose agonies would add to our vocabulary new terms, such as ‘boat people’, ‘re-education camps’ and ‘killing fields’,” he said.
However when giving the speech Bush’s remarks were heavily criticized by senior Democrats, who challenged the president’s grasp of historical fact.
Do you agree with Sen. Hilary Clinton, and troops should be honourned ...

$100,000 Reward to Find Mrs. X From The Nanny Diaries?
2007-08-24 05:06:17
A $100,000 reward is supposedly being offered by TWC head Harvey Weinstein to reveal the true identity of the bitchy, self-obsessed shopaholic, Upper East Side mom from The Nanny Diaries. Laura Linney played the character in the film.
The movie is based on a book which is based on real experiences. The book’s authors won’t give any information about who the real Mrs. X could be. Apparently, the offer was made at a recent screening of the movie. Weinstein was apparently overheard promising a “few well-connected but tight-lipped socialites $100,000 for any information that would lead to Mrs. X’s unveiling.”
It’s not likely to be a big name celebrity, though according to the NY Post one suspect is Lisa Birnbach, co-author of The Preppy Hanbook, who once employed one of the book’s writers.

One of their patrol cars is an electric Chevy Impala; this 2000 cruiser has been converted in to an all-electric vehicle. This green vehicle will be able to run for the full 8 hours of its shift on just one charge, the vehicle will take just two hours to charge just by using a 240-volt outlet. This all electric Chevy Impala police car is a step in the right direction for the environment, as it only cost 35 cents to run for its 8-hour shift compared to $3 to $4 dollars for a gas powered version. The car is great for police work as the electric vehicle is very quiet, but the only downside is the fact that the car will not work in heavy rain as it coul ...
