2007-08-24 10:58:37
Tim Henman announced that he is annoyed and disappointed that so little British tennis players have not made it big or followed him to be part of
world wide tennis and not just part of national tennis. He said that he will retire after Great Britain’s Davis Cup match with Croatia at Wimbledon next month. When he was asked id he thinks Briton will ever win Wimbledon he said “I think we have to look at the bigger picture.” and later added “If we can start getting more players playing professionally, more players competing in Grand Slams, then we can start winning these biggest and best tournaments as standards improve.”
Tim Henman said that after he retires he will like to have some input on the younger British contenders who want to follow in his footsteps.
Should he retire now while he is doing good or is it to early for him to retire?

NFL Jets to trade Pete Kendall
2007-08-24 08:51:43
The New York Jets have now agreed to trade 34 year old veteran Pete Kendall to their NFL rivals the Washington Redskins. The Redskins are hoping that Kendall will make up for their problems finding a suitable starting left guard. The Washington Redskins are also planning to give Kendall a raise of $1,000,000 approximately, giving him a new salary of $2.7 million. The trade was neccessary for the Jets, because Kendall had asked to be traded or released due to the fact that New York wouldn’t renegotiate his contract. His frustration on the matter was visible in his body language on the training field. The Redskins had hoped to avoid such a trade, since Derrick Dockery signed a huge contract with Buffallo in the spring as a free agent.
Do you think Kendall will have more success with the Redskins than the Jets?

McClendon is part of a group of four who purchased the SuperSonics and WNBA’s Storm for $350 million in July 2006. He told an Oklahoma newspaper previously that he had always hoped to move the team to Oklahoma, but knew they could make more money in Pacific North-West. Clay Bennett and McClendon later issued a joint statement claiming them to be McClendon’s “personal thoughts“, and that he wasn’t speaking “On behalf of the company owners“.
If it were up to you, would the SuperSonics stay in Se ...

Reggie Miller will not return to the Celtics or NBA at all
2007-08-24 08:03:15
Having spent two weeks putting himself through a rigurous workout regime ot simulate an NBA season, ex Pacers player Reggie Miller has decided not to make a comeback. However, it appears it is not the tiredness and fatigue associated with full time basketball that put him of, it was the mental requirements. “Physically, I know I could have done it. But mentally, when you do something like this, you’ve either got to be all in or all out. And I’ve decided I’m all out.”
Miller is the NBA’s all time leader in 3 pointers, but retired in 2005 after 18 years with the Pacers. It is clearly obvious from this that he has the ability to be a top star in the NBA, alongside the likes of Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter and Steve Nash, but it seems he has made his mind up. “So never, ever, ever again. If anybody is ever interested in me playing again, please don’t call.”
So, are you disappointed that a legend will not return to the basketball court?
