Insurance News: LifeWise Health Plan of Arizona has green light to resume selling 2007-08-26 04:42:12 Some breaking insurance news is that LifeWise Health Plan of Arizona has just got the green light to resume selling insurance in Arizona; they were given a no-sell order last week by the Washington state insurance regulators. On Friday the Washington state insurance commissioner and LifeWise both announced that the LifeWise Health Plan insurance is now available to Arizona again. The reason behind the problems was that LifeWise was accused by the Washington regulators that they were selling health-insurance policies at below-market rates in Arizona. This was at the expense of its policyholders in Washington and made a few people unhappy. Maxis Confirms Spore for Xbox 360, Sony PS3 or Nintendo Wii 2007-08-26 04:31:56 It has now been confirmed by Maxis that there are plans to develop a version of Spore for consoles like the Xbox 360, Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii, although they also said that they will not release them alongside the PC and DS versions. The news was broke during a behind closed doors demo of the game at this week’s Leipzig GC. Someone asked Maxis exec Patrick Buechener whether Spore will hit consoles and he said “Not right now, but we see this as a franchise.” And also followed with “It just won’t be at launch.” The Nintendo Wii could do good things with this game, it would not need amazing graphics and the Wii’s control system would be fun while you evolve a single celled organism into a complex creature and eventually an entire civilisation. Sony Playstation 3 Eye Game-Apps Trailer: coming to PS3 soon 2007-08-26 03:56:47 As I mentioned before I want to buy a Sony Playstation 3 (as I own the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii), but was not sure to wait for more games and maybe a better Blu-ray player. After watching the Sony Playstation Eye trailer below which shows a collection of games and apps that will feature on it, I may get one sooner. I have seen the Blu-ray on the PS3 in action and it plays very well just like Sky HD. Bank of America agrees to pour $2 billion into Countrywide Financial Corp 2007-08-26 03:27:40 Countrywide Financial has been in a great deal of trouble recently, due to the crisis in the sub prime mortgage market which stemmed from the credit crunch. However, The Bank of America has agreed to help Countrywide Financial by giving the company a massive $2 billion in an attempt to calm the fear in the mortgage market. The Bank of American holds roughly $1.5 trillion in assets and it is the largest retail bank in america. This cash injected comes only a week after Countrywide Financial managed to get $11.5 billion in credit funding to continue its operations. Recall of Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel: from someone that owns one 2007-08-26 01:14:57 For everyone that does not know Microsoft has issued a recall and no its not the Xbox 360 console like many would wish, but instead it is a recall on the Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel and I just happen to own one of them. Microsoft has said “As a precautionary measure, Microsoft Corporation is voluntarily providing its customers with a free retrofit to the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel. The Wheels were manufactured during 2006 - 2007. A component in the Wheel chassis may in rare cases overheat and release smoke when the AC-DC power supply is used to energize the Wheel.” Although Microsoft has done this, they could have made thing simpler by giving you an online form to fill out and submit which could then be done in seconds. This is not possible for Microsoft as the king of software decided to get us to print out and fax the form to them, this disappoints me and means more time and cost to me for a problem they have caused. Fenton Tornado Leaves Over 130,000 Without Power 2007-08-25 12:23:30 This morning in Michigan, over 130,000 people were left with no power or electricity after the fenton tornado caused extensive damage in the area. The exact number of people left without power after fenton tornado is roughly 131,000. The power company, Consumers Energy, has said that 81,000 homes and businesses were left with out power due to the fenton tornado. Another power company, Detroit Edison has also said the fenton tornado has caused 50,000 of its customers to loose power.
