President Bush To Commemorate Katrina Anniversary 2007-08-27 16:56:45 Next week President Bush is set to return to the Gulf Coast, where hard times and affects Hurricane Katrina continue two years since the disaster happened. Hurricane Katrina was the most destructive natural disaster in U.S. history. It swamped the entire city of New Orleans, killed 1,800 people across the Gulf Coast, destroyed or severely damaged more than 200,000 homes and made more than 800,000 people homeless overnight. The Bush administration is still facing charges of an inadequate response, for the way it handled the crisis, and more recently, for not spending more time on it. The federal government has provided more than $114 billion in aid, $96 billion of which has been spent or is available for states to draw from. Cecil Cooper interim manager for Houston Astros: Phil Garner and Tim Purpura fired 2007-08-27 16:40:59 The Houston Astros have announced that Cecil Cooper will be the interim manager for the team after Phil Garner was fired; the team has also fired general manager Tim Purpura and has given the job to Tal Smith. Garner has been the manager for the baseball team since 2004 and although they had some success they is a long way of this year as they are now in fifth place. Phil Garner did a lot for The Houston Astros team in 2005, but the success was short lived which is why the team have now announced that Cecil Cooper will be the new interim manager, it is not known how long he will hold the position for. Owen Wilson Issues Statement: asking to heal in private 2007-08-27 15:09:04 Following the different news published today about Owen Wilson’s apparent suicide attempt, we have now been informed that Owen Wilson has issued a statement. In his statement he said “I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time”. The statement was apparently released to Reuters, we agree he needs rest and other than the statement no one really knows what’s happened apart from close friends, family and also the medical staff looking after him who are bound by confidentiality laws. Mary Fualaau was born on the 30th January 1962 she is formerly known as Mary Kay Letourneau and Mary Katherine Schmitz, but now many know her as her legal name of Mary Fualaau. Mary was a former school teacher who has been made famous for having a sexual relationship and two children with her underage pupil (not a great way to get fame); she was later on convicted of statutory rape and sentenced to seven years in prison. Mary first met the “young” Vili Fualaau when he was a student in her second grade class at Shorewood Elementary School in Burien, Washington. The sick thing is he was only 8 years old and she was 29 years old. A few years later when he was 13 and Mary was Vili’s teacher again in the sixth grade, she had underage sex with him during the summer of 1996. It keeps your computer case of the floor, giving you more room to vacuum, stack filing cabinets, and most importantly, it will stop you kicking your computer. Although there is a draw back. It is not compatible with most full tower cases, if you have a midi tower (most normal computer towers) then you are fine. But for anyone using a big case, be sure to check the size of that case, as this holder wont fit a thermaltake amour or any of the coolermaster stacker series of cases. This holder only only supports cases from 3-10 inches wide, and 12-20 inches high. It also seems to be fairly easy to install and use, with no reports of screeching when the case is removed from the holder, of scratch marks on the metal. Bennett and Snowsill dominate Accenture Triathlon 2007-08-27 13:43:57   At the 25th running year of the Accenture Triathlon in Chicago (currently the worlds largest triathlon weekend), runner Greg Bennett extended his streak of Triathlon victories to 3 years running. Despite the fact that previous Accenture Triathlon champion Craig Alexander was absent from the lineup, other triathlon winners from the past made the startng line still very impressive. These include Conrad Stoltz (2001), Craig Walton (2002, 2003) and Becky Lavelle (2005). The womens race was won by Emma Snowsill, closely followed by Becky Lavelle who finished 2 minutes later, with a total time of 2:01:24. Nick Bollea Hulk Hogan’s Son Discharged: John Graziano in critical condition 2007-08-27 12:59:06 It has been reported that Hulk Hogan is now breathing a sigh of relief because his teenage son, Nick Bollea, has been released from a hospital in Clearwater, Florida, and is now recovering at home, one day after a car wreck left the 17-year-old seriously injured and another male passenger clinging to his life. Nick’s injuries were described as non-life threatening, while his friend, 22-year-old John Graziano was listed in critical condition, John still remains in critical condition.
