Fortwo BRABUS and Fortwo BRABUS Xclusive: pint-sized people movers 2007-08-29 06:12:25 Do you remember the BRABUS Smart Car and how they got so much power from such a small car, well guess what there is now a next generation of these pint-sized people movers coming out. You have the Fortwo BRABUS and Fortwo BRABUS Xclusive. The engines on both these cars are small only producing 98 hp but do manage to get the micro car from 0 to 60 in just under 10 seconds. Ok so many of you might think that what is so great about that, but you must remember that you are driving a car which will return 45 MPG. Both the Fortwo BRABUS and Fortwo BRABUS Xclusive has wider rear wheel arches than the previous model, there is a dual exhaust system, you also get 16-inch wheels on the front and 17-inch wheels at the rear. The car sits ten millimeters lower than the normal Mercedes Smart ForTwo so handling is much improved. Now, it seems that he may not appear in the sequel after all according to Corey Haim’s manager. It’s reported that major logistical obstacles exist, concerning the immigration problems Haim could face in travelling in and out of the country. The film is to shoot in Vancouver. The Summer Movie Season Climbs The $4 Billion Box-Office Mountain 2007-08-29 05:53:35 This weekend’s estimated figures have shown that the industry has narrowly crossed the $4 Billion mark over the weekend, according to box-office tracker Media By Numbers. Paul Dergarabedian, president of the company have estimated that the weekend’s earnings would bring the tally from the first weekend in May through the weekend just gone to $4,003,000 in sales. The entire summer season runs from the beginning of May through to Labor Day. Dergarabedian added that the running total may possibly be below the $4 Billion mark when the final figures were recorded on Monday, but the industry should be close to the milestone when the summer season is finished. It is a given that the 2007 totals will beat the 2004’s total of $3.95 Billion. The box office success has a lot to do with the three-quels that have littered the season. They’re also not the only thieves appearing in Vince Guzzo’s movie Theatres. There have been so many cinema-goers who have smuggled video recorders into Guzzo’s 12 Montreal cinemas to pirate films, he’s resorted to using night-vision goggles to catch them in the dark. Movie Gallery Recieves Extended Time To Pay Off Creditors 2007-08-29 05:15:40 Movie Gallery Inc. has said that its creditors agreed to extended their promise not to call the company’s outstanding debt for repayment by a month, provided that the company doesn’t miss any more payments to them. It was reported that the nation’s second-biggest video rental chain was unable to meet financial covenants due to “significantly” weaker-than-expected second-quarter results. The company then signed a forbearance agreement with senior lenders in July. Tuesday saw the creditors agreeing to delay exercising any rights to call in the debt until September 30. The previous restraint period was to last through Monday. It was also said that in July, Movie Gallery were considering various strategic options, including a possible sale of the company. Ang Lee’s Lust, Caution gets ‘Death Knell rating’ of NC-17 2007-08-29 05:08:46 Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain follow-up has been slapped by Stateside censors with the harshest rating they could possibly give after claiming the movie is too erotic for U.S audiences. However, days ahead of Lust, Caution’s world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, the US distributor Focus Features has decided not to contest the MPAA’s NC-17 certification. An NC-17 rating usually is given to hardcore horror released and is looked upon as the death knell for a film’s theatrical prospects as it denotes extreme content, which doesn’t bode well with many cinema owners. Normally, distributors would contest an NC-17 rating or agree to make cuts to ensure a more family-friends ruling so cinema chains and individual art houses will show the movie. But I have just found this post from autoblog that has angered me as someone in Russia has decided to deface these wheels. Ok some people do a nice job when they want to improve their wheels, but painting flowers on them is not one of the best ways to do it. Rockstar Games has said that Manhunt 2 is very important to them and they are glad that fans will be able to enjoy the new game soon. This is following the massive toy recall of Mattel toys including over 100,000 toys that were sold in shops in Ireland. Mattel have not been doing too well recently, as they issue a 4.4 million toys recalled in November 2006, and then just recently a toy recall of 20 million toys.
