Kevin Smith Has Revealed His ‘Red State’ Screenplay Is Finished
2007-08-30 08:33:03
Kevin Smith has been in the news a lot recently and today is no different. Kevin Smith has revealed that he has finished the first draft for his upcoming horror movie, Red State. He also reveals that it’s the shortest script he has ever written, with the least amount of dialogue. On his website, viewaskew.com, Smith wrote, “Not to say there’s no dialogue; just that there’s about half as much as I normally write […] Unlike any other script I’ve ever authored, to say the least. Very fucked up. If I’d never said anything about it in the press and put it out under a pseudonym, I doubt anyone would ever connect me with it. Can’t wait to shoot it.” At this early stage Smith hasn’t revealed any plot details or confirmed any casting but reports have claimed that Jeff Anderson and Jay Mewes (Clerks) have signed on to the film. The Descent Sequel Finds Its Director: Jon Harris
2007-08-30 08:24:12
The Descent was a prime example of what a great horror movie should be when it was released in 2005 and since then, many horror fans have been hankering after a sequel. Well, our prayers have finally been answered and work has begun on the next film, to be called ‘The De2ent’. In an interview with Fangoria, Neil Marshall provided information on the new director for the film, “I will not be directing The Descent 2, but I will be overseeing every aspect of the production. There’s nothing to oversee yet, though, as the script is currently being written. My Descent editor Jon Harris will make his feature directing debut with the sequel, and I can’t think of a better man for the job.” He didn’t reveal any details about the movie, but unlike it’s predecessor we’ll probably see this movie get more ‘Americanized’ in an attempt to make it more marketable. However, I’m glad that editor Jon Harris will be directing because film editors usually make the best directors, kno ...
Saw 4 Gets R-Rating and New Theatrical Poster
2007-08-30 08:16:07
Back in July, at Comic-Con, SAW IV producer, Mark Burg revealed that the MPAA has given the first cut of the movie an NC-17 rating. Clearly unhappy, Mark said, “One day we’d like to have the guts and leave it like it is” Well it seems that day is still yet to come as the MPAA have given the latest cut of the film an R-Rating for sequences of ‘grisly bloody violence and torture throughout’ isn’t that the whole point of SAW? It’s expected that the we’ll see more of the ‘grisly’ bits when the unrated dvd gets released next year. IGN have also provided us all with the new and final theatrical poster, showing the women from the first production photo wearing the pig mask. I like the fact that we don’t actually know what’s really going on in the movie. Good move Lionsgate! Source Written by Lucy for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Film News, News ...

2007-08-30 08:04:32
Yesterday we bought you the first production photo from Jason Reitman’s Juno, which is to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in a few weeks. Now, the official website (launched yesterday) has released what we assume to be an early glimpse of the film’s theatrical poster. The official plot synopsis for the film follows, Ellen Page stars as Juno (also the film’s title), a whip-smart teen confronting an unplanned pregnancy by her classmate Bleeker (Michael Cera). With the help of her hot best friend Leah (Olivia Thirlby), Juno finds her unborn child a “perfect” set of parents: an affluent suburban couple, Mark and Vanessa (Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner), longing to adopt. Luckily, Juno has the total support of her parents (JK Simmons and Allison Janney) as she faces some tough decisions, flirts with adulthood and ultimately figures out where she belongs. This is one of the films I can’t wait to see. I loves Jason Reitman’s first movie, Thank You For Not ...
Watch John Cusack In Grace Is Gone Movie Trailer
2007-08-30 07:54:54
At The Sundance Festival this year, one of the films on everyone’s lips was “Grace Is Gone”. The Weinstein Co quickly snapped up the film and Clint Eastwood requested if he could write the score. The brilliant score is featured on the trailer which was released yesterday. Some critics have said that the trailer doesn’t show the film in the best light and I agree, but it’s definitely worth watching. The movie follows the story of a recently-widowed father as he tries to tell his daughters about their mothers death in Iraq on a road-trip to a theme park. The film is a heart-wrenching tale with political undertones, if you don’t reach for the Kleenex when you watch it you must be mad! Check out the trailer at /film. Nokia iPhone: direct copy of Apple’s phone
2007-08-30 06:54:55
The Nokia iPhone was dropped on the world during the launch of the 8 GB Nokia N95 and the N81, if you look at the video clip below you will see what we mean by “direct copy of Apple’s phone”. It looks not only sleek but a direct copy of the Apple iPhone and we are sure the Apple lawyers might also be interested. After watching the video I also noticed that the interface is just like the iPhones, but to add to the fire is what Nokia’s Executive VP (Anssi Vanjoki) said at a Q&A session, “If there is something good in the world then we copy with pride”. That does make sense, but can they really do that? Nokia may be aiming to take the best of the most hyped phone in history (The iPhone) and also improve on the weaknesses like its slow internet connection speeds, locked to one network, poor camera and high price. Expect the Nokia iPhone to have HSDPA, a least a 5 megapixel camera (like the N95) and the launch date should be in 2008. Written by Daniel for Product Revie ...
