Monday Xbox Live will close: how do 360 owners feel?
2007-09-06 05:20:12
We have been informed that Microsoft’s Xbox live service is to close Monday for around 4 hours (apparently from 9am to 1pm). Many users of its Xbox Live service have been getting messages from the Console manufacturer, although this is just a little bit of downtime I wonder what the Xbox 360 users will feel about this. If people are at work or not around then I guess they will not care, but for the gamers that want to go to Xbox live in the downtime, they will be very unhappy. Microsoft has apparently refused to comment on what the maintenance is for, it could be an annual autumn update but who really knows but Microsoft. One other rumor that I found very interesting is that there could be a new feature as a parental timer that allows adults pre-program a set amount of time their children can play on the Xbox 360. James McAvoy and Keria Knightley Deny Film Rumours
2007-09-06 05:14:58
James McAvoy and Keira Knightley have denied rumours about their respective next films. McAvoy was set to star in the Eddie The Eagle Edwards movie, but said, “”I’d have loved to have played him but no, that’s not true.” It is now rumoured Steve Coogan will be playing Eddie The Eagle. Keira Knightley was then asked about any more Pirates of The Caribbean movies, to which she replied, “There may be more, but not for me. I’m finished with them.” The two stars can currently been seen in epic drama Atonement. McAvoy has revealed he nearly made a mess of a celebrated six-minute sequence in the film where his character, Robbie Turner, wanders the packed D-Day beaches looking for a boat home. He says, “I nearly made a hash of it, and when I got it right my co-stars didn’t. It features 1,000 extras and is nearly six minutes long. I got it wrong twice, then on the third take we got it.” Written by Lucy for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Fi ...

Hurricane Henriette the Category 1 storm pounding Mexico
2007-09-06 05:09:17
Although Hurricane Henriette is a Category 1 storm it is still pounding Mexico, and the heavy rain and wind that it is bringing is ruining large corn and tomato crops. Although Henriette is a weak storm with winds speeds up to 75mph, it still managed to kill seven people while it was on route to the Pacific coast. Costal surges of up to five feet were warned by the U.S. National Hurricane Center, they also warned that downpours of up to twelve inches could hit the mountainous areas. There has been no change in the strength of Hurricane Henriette, but once the storm hits the mainland of Mexico then the strength should start to weaken. Owen Wilson’s Family Ban Kate Hudson
2007-09-06 05:06:51
Apparently Kate Hudson has been trying to reach Owen Wilson but only to be told that Owen’s family doesn’t think talking to her would be good for Owen at this moment and has effectively banned any contact from her. Kate’s friend has said that “Kate has been trying to get in touch with Owen and is distraught that the family doesn’t want her anywhere near him,” It looks like that Owen’s family think that Kate Hudson is the one who might have drove him to suicide. It’s understandable that they have Owen’s best interests at heart but to not even let her know how he is a bit much if you ask me. Do you think that they are being far to her? source Written by Kerry for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Celebrity News, News ...

Catherine Zeta-Jones How She Got Back Into Shape
2007-09-06 04:52:52
So how does Catherine Zeta Jones achieve her slim line figure? Well she says that she uses a combination of healthy eating and exercise. In her latest role as a New York chef in No Reservations and with gourmet food on the menu she said that she has had to be extra cautious about her fitness regime. Catherine said that “I have to drag myself to the gym like everyone else, but I do eat sensibly and have lots of chicken,” Catherine has admitted indulging in her favourite sandwiches during her two pregnancies. While she was carrying Dylan, who is now aged seven, she ballooned to 13st. She had an easier time shifting the pounds after the birth of her daughter Carys, who is now four because she followed a rigorous exercise regime she used for her role in the musical Chicago. Do you think that Catherine is right to be watching her weight or do you think that stars worry to much these days? Written by Kerry for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Celebrity News, News ...

Will the Xbox 360 HD-DVD price cut make you buy one?
2007-09-06 04:44:23
I just brought a Sony PS3 for the Blu-ray to get great high definition pictures while watching movies, but as I also own the Xbox 360 its great news that Microsoft are going to cut the price of the external HD-DVD drive from around £122 (€180) by £13 (€20). The high-definition player add-on to the Xbox 360 needs to make more sales and this price cut could help, what do you think? The Consumer Electronics trade fair in Germany is where the announcement was made, but currently I have not heard what the price cut will be in the UK (it retails there for £129). So will the Xbox 360 HD-DVD price cut make you buy one? Written by Daniel for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Xbox 360, Gaming ...

Scott Rudin Buys Rights To I, Claudius And Wants Leonardo DiCaprio For The Lead
2007-09-06 04:37:24
Robert Graves’ I, Claudius is a well-known roman epic novel that was crying out to be bought onto the big screen. After Gladiator, we all predicted a slew of Roman epics. This never happened, so it’s good to see Scott Rudin (The Queen) giving the genre a wake-up call. Rudin has purchased the rights to Robert Grave’s I, Claudius for a cool $2 million. Rudin hopes to snag Leonardo DiCaprio for the lead role in his film version (DiCaprio was reportedly attached in a previous deal at Warner Bros). He also hopes to persuade William Monahan (The Departed) to write the script. If Rudin gets this right and assembles a cracking cast and Monahan writes a stonker of a script, this could be something very special (unlike the BBC mini-series that took 12 hours to tell the story). Ryan Seacrest May Sing At The 59th Primetime Emmy Awards Ceremony
2007-09-06 04:33:21
Ryan Seacrest is to host the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards on the 16th September. Ryan has said the Emmy telecast, which is set to air live at 8 p.m. ET on Fox, will open with a tune that he said “may or may not be” part of depending on “how confident I feel on the 16th.” Ryan who at the moment is on the road as part of his duties as host of Fox’s “American Idol,” which is in the middle of seventh-season auditions declined to give more details about the opening act, saying that he was being intentionally vague. Ryan has said that “I’m going to try and make the show fun and I’m going to try to have a sense of humour about it, and I hope the people watching have a sense of humour, too,” Ryan said that once the ceremony is over, it’ll be time to pop some champagne corks. And when he was asked how many glasses he might have that night, he quipped: “When I’m done, it’ll be a matter of magnum bottles, not ...
Starbucks coffee shops to offer free Apple iTunes access with no WiFi fees
2007-09-06 04:22:40
Both Apple Inc and Starbucks Corp have agreed a deal which will allow people who go into the coffee shops to have free WiFi access so they can then buy song wirelessly from Apple’s iTunes music store. This free Wi-Fi connection will debut in more than 600 of the Starbucks coffee shops in both Seattle and New York from the 2nd October, later this year this free service will expand across other major cities in the U.S. This new deal is hoped to improve coffee sales in Starbucks stores and also Apple are hoping to increase their music downloads. Howard Schultz, the Starbucks Chairman has refused to discuss the deal in detail, although he did say that the deal is “mutually beneficial to both Apple and Starbucks.” It seems Apple are working hard to improve sales in all areas of their company, what with the recent news of a new iPod Nano, classic iPod, iPod Touch and also a price cut for the Apple iPhone. Jennifer Lopez Ex-Husband Ojani Noa Ordered To Pay Her $545,000
2007-09-06 04:21:23
On Wednesday a California judge formally ordered the former husband of Jennifer Lopez to pay her $545,000 for trying to publish a tell-all book about their relationship. The ruling affirmed an earlier arbitrator’s decision in the case, which included awarding Jennifer a permanent injunction barring her ex-husband Ojani Noa, from disclosing information about their relationship for personal gain. Ojani was also ordered to turn over all materials related to the book. According to media accounts, the unpublished book alleges that Lopez had multiple affairs during her 11-month marriage to Noa, including one with salsa-singer Marc Anthony, her third and current husband. Apparently 31 year old Ojani who is a restaurant and nightclub manager had offered not to publish the book if Lopez paid him $5 million, according to Lopez’s suit. Jennifer divorced Ojani in 1998. What do you make of all this why is it every time a Hollywood couple split they try and make money from each other ...

Ryan Phillipe and Sean Bean Star In Viking Movie, Last Battle Dreamer
2007-09-06 04:18:18
Generally, Viking movies suck at the Box Office. But surely the big unstoppable pillaging machines with horned helmets and bushy beards deserve a decent film tribute? Well, their wishes are just about to be granted with a little help from Ryan Phillippe, Sean Bean and Abbie Cornish. Director Menno Meyjes is set to make Last Battle Dreamer, a movie set in the 7th century about a Viking warrior called Thorfinn (Phillippe) who invades Britain with his battle-scarred older brother Hakon (Bean). No more details about the plot have been released yet, but Meyjes describes the film as “a love story written in fire and blood”. Filming starts later this year.
