Ubuntu On PS3

I cam across this "How To..." article today that tells you how to put the Ubuntu 7.10 linux operating system on a PS3. I was unaware that you could do this, so I thought it was pretty cool. Aparently you just mess with the hard drive, install some software on a USB stick or memory card, and pop in a Ubuntu ISO image CD. CompUSA To Be Sold

And the worst has come. A couple days ago I posted that CompUSA might be closing it's doors for good, and now it is official. Retail store liquidator Gordon Brothers Group has bought the computer store. Retail locations will remain open a month or so after the holidays, but after that I presume there will be little shipments coming in to your local store. Awesome Wii Mod

This isn't as much a console mod as it is a decoration. The guys over at Crystalicing.com do all sorts of designs and decorations on all sorts of things. Most recently they did a Wii one, in the style of The Legend of Zelda: Twighlight Princess. It is very cool, with the Triforce symbol on one side, along Link and a wolf on the other. All of the little crystal things are 24 karat crystals. It doesn't say how much the thing costs, but you can count on not being able to afford it.Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...

CompUSA Going Out Of Business?

If this rumor is true, then it will be sad. Supposedly the "Computer Superstore" CompUSA just might be going out of business early next year. Many things point to their demise, but there is still a chance that they will continue on. Some things that add to the plausability of the rumor are that CompUSA closed nearly half of their retail stores this year. As well as low revenue, and no restocking shipments scheduled past February. It is indeed fishy. I'm hoping for the best. I've always like the CompUSA near me. There are never any crowds like some other stores (Best Buy...), and they always have great deals, with everything having a rebate of some sort. Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...

Windows XP Service Pack 3

Surprisingly (to me at least) Microsoft has been working on a new Service Pack for Windows XP. Along with many other bug fixes, and a few new features (I assume) there will be a nice speed boost implemented in the update. With SP3 your XP machine will run ~10% faster than it does now with SP2. Even more reasons not to upgrade to Windows Vista. Also, I heard from a caller on the podcast "Buzz Out Loud" that there just might be an even newer version of Windows to be released in Fall of 2008 (or 2009). Making Vista like Windows ME (which wasn't much of an upgrade, and did not sell well). Which is yet another reason not to get Vista. Poor Microsoft.Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...

Star Wars Gamecube Mod

This is pretty cool. A while back someone built a mod for their Gamecube in the shape of an AT-AT from the Star Wars movies. It is very well done, the Gamecube was the perfect choice for the mod. It was up for sale on eBay earlier, but I think it has been sold already, or for some reason taken down from the site, because at the moment I can't go to it. This must have taken a while.
