Resistance 2 Revealed 2008-01-12 01:21:00 Perhaps the best shooter so far for the PS3, Resistance: Fall of Man, is getting a sequel. I am pumped about this, having almost beaten the first Resistance game, the second should be very good. For PS3 owners, this is their Halo 3. The feature set is unparalleled in any other console game to date. With up to 60 players online, 8 player co-operative play, and two entirely different, full campaigns, this game should be insane. Macworld Rumors 2008-01-11 01:45:00 I am usually not a big Mac computer fan, but I have become fond of the iPod line of media players. In a week or so (I think) Apple will have it's big press show of the year. At Macworld, Steve Jobs usually announces the big thing that they have been working on and hope to release. I believe it is where he announced the iPhone, and we all know how that turned out. Supposedly this year is supposed to be big, but if it's about them making new computers, I could care less. There have been many rumors floating around the internet. There is the possibility of a new Apple TV, and hopefully there is one, because we all know how the first one did... Also the new, possibly 3G, iPhone has been mentioned by many people, and it is supposed to be released this year, but now word on when. Some new Macs may be announced as well, supposedly a new Mac Pro with beefier system specs will be availiable, as well as the rumor that super-lightweight Macbooks with ~12" screens may be announced. New Samsung Touch Screen Phone 2008-01-10 20:44:00 This intrigued me. Samsung, one of the leading sellers of cell phones in the world, is coming out with an all new Touch Screen phone for Sprint. The Samsung M800 will have a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G EV-DO capabilities. It does not say, but I would assume that it would also come with some kind of media playback functionalities. This phone looks very nice, with a large touch screen and what look like 3 touch sensitive buttons on the bottom of the device. The M800 is the US variant of a very similar phone currently in Europe I believe. This looks to be an iPhone killer hoeful, we'll just have to wait and see if it lives up to it's name. Portal: First Slice 2008-01-09 23:58:00 If you have been wanting to play the highly acclaimed game Portal, now is the best time. Valve is offering a little taste of Portal. If you own any nVidia card, you can now download the free Portal demo entitled "Portal: First Slice". The demo comes with the first 4 levels of the full retail version. The game is very fun, and everyone should give it a try. Though, to get the demo you need to create a Steam account, which is fairly easy, and can be useful in the future as Steam gives you access to tons of downloadable games. Guitar Hero Turntable 2008-01-08 00:15:00 Now, I've seen multiple mods for the oh so popular Guitar Hero controller (as I have posted some before), but this one is probably one of the most original. This guy created a Guitar Hero Turntable in just a weekend. It sports the 5 colored buttons, the whammy bar, and what looks like an actual record holder thing. It is pretty cool, and very well done. What I liked was his vision of the device. He said, "I just wanted to represent hip-hop and put it out there and spread good vibes", which is very well put. Christmas Reviews: Unreal Tournament III 2008-01-06 20:24:00 The deathmatch king has returned in it's 3rd reincarnation. The Unreal Tournament franchise has been known for it's ultra fast paced, no mercy gameplay, and Unreal Tournament III is no different. There are both Single, and Multi-player modes, though if you have heard of Unreal Tournament at all you will know that it is basically a multiplayer game. The single-player side is more or less multi-player but with computer enemies, so there really isn't much difference aside from having to use the Internet to play against other people. I would guess the graphics could be great, but as I mentioned in my Call of Duty 4 review, I don't have that great of a PC. It can run the game, just not that well. But if you have any of the newer high-end graphics cards from ATI or nVidia, then you'll be fine. The map design is amazing, and genius. No two areas look alike at all, and with multi-level buildings, teleporters, and awesome power-ups skewered across each map, you will never get tired of look ...

Warners Bros. Chooses Blu-Ray 2008-01-06 01:36:00 Some people are saying this could be the end of the seemingly neverending high definition format war. Warner Brothers has officially chosen Sony's Blu-Ray Disc as their HD format of choice. Soon you will be able to get all your favorite Warner titles on Blu-Ray, but not HD-DVD. The reasoning? Apparently Warner sees it as so many people do. If we wait any longer to finally decide on a format, it will never end. The confusion will only get greater as people ponder whether to buy HD-DVD, DVD, or Blu-Ray. Hopefully this will help find a side so this can finally end. I myself am rooting for Blu-Ray, seeing as I have a PS3. But in the end I don't really care right now.
