Portable Apps 2007-10-05 00:18:00 I've known about this website for a while, but have never found a use for it till now. Portableapps.com is a website where you download a sort of application start menu suite thing. It comes with a bunch of open source software (of the Firefox,Open Office, GIMP, IM, and Audacity varieties). And what you do is you put the file managing software on a USB drive of any sort, it can even be an old iPod or other MP3 player that can be used as a hard drive. Once the software is on your drive you can move around your USB stick to other computers and run that software off it. So you can have your documents and files, plus the program that uses the files. Just in case you need to use a computer that doesn't have select programs on it. I found this program very useful due to the elegant menu system, and the usefullness of it all. AT&T Tilt 2007-10-04 00:12:00 The long rumored smart phone is finally officially announced. This is a pretty cool device. It has a sliding keyboard that has a sort of tilt to it (hence the name). Along with that it sports Windows Mobile 6, a 2.8" screen, GPS, Push-to-Talk, IM, WiFi, 3G, and a 3 megapixel camera. Not bad for only $299. New Zunes 2007-10-03 00:11:00 It's official, Microsoft's new line of Zune media players will be coming out soon. The devices include an 80gb player with the new interface, as well as the new Zune Pad 4 way touch sensitive controls. Also coming is a 8/4gb flash drive varieties, with the same new things as the previous Zune. Pretty cool stuff, Microsoft is going in the right direction with the product line. PS3 Price Cut...Again 2007-10-01 23:27:00 Well here's another rumor. There will be an announcement on October 12th that Sony is calling the "Big Bang". The rumor is that they will be unveiling the new 40gb $399 PS3. This would be a $100 price cut from the already $100 less 60gb version. Rock Band Official Price 2007-09-29 20:27:00 Woohoo. The upcoming Rock Band game will be released on november 23rd for the Xbox 360 and PS3 at a price of $169.99, which is $30 less than the previously announced price of $200. The package includes a guitar, drumkit, mic, and of course the game. Additionally the game will be released for the PS2 as well, but at a later date, December 10th. Not much difference, but this means that if I don't get a PS3 or 360 anytime soon, then I can play Rock Band and Guitar Hero III on my PS2. New Camera 2007-09-29 01:13:00 Well, it is my moms birthday tommorow, and me and my dad got her a new Sony Camcorder. We opened the presents tonight due to me being gone for the whole day tommorow (so expect both posts at 11:30-12 tommorow night). It's a pretty cool device. We got the Sony Handycam DCR-SR200. It has a 40gb hard drive, touch screen, 10x zoom, 4.0 megapixels, and can easily switch from video to picture mode. The coolest part though was that it had a little switch that toggled on NIGHT VISION. I'm not sure if many cameras have it, not much of an enthusiast, but I still thought it was really cool. Anyway, if I were to rate this sucker I would say 8/10. It has good picture quality, but it could be better. And there weren't many real button controls, so the touch screen interface might take a while getting used to. Overall if you are looking for a reasonably priced fairly high-end camcorder that is easy to use, look no further.Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...
