Orange Box Reviews: Team Fortress 2
2007-10-14 19:34:00
Seeing as I've have played this game the most so far, I will go ahead and review it. I think Team Fortress 2 is a pretty AWESOME game. The gameplay is gold, the graphics are great and unique, and the diversity in gameplay is great too. Also there is a great stats system, and little achievments you get when you, well, achieve stuff. I'll start with the gameplay. You get to choose from 9 different classes: Scout (run fast, double jump), Soldier (rocket launcher), Pyro (flame thrower), Heavy (+ health, mini-gun), Demoman (explosives, sticky bombs), Engineer (turrets, teleports), Sniper (sniper rifle), Medic (healing gun, needle rifle), and the Spy (disguse as enemy, invisible). All that, plus you can switch them out as you please every time you die. Ok, now the graphics are very cool. They are pretty cartoonish, yet can deal out carnage like it were real life. There is a reason this game is rated M... Also there are only 6 levels, but there are many levels inside them. During parts of ga ...

Orange Box
2007-10-14 01:31:00
Well, I picked up the Orange Box today. For those that don't know, this fine piece of software contains 5 games. Half-Life 2 along with Episodes 1 and 2, Portal, and my favorite Team Fortress 2. First of all I want to say, what a deal. 5 excelent games for a mere $50(For PC, I think it's $60 for the Xbox 360 version). Well worth the cost. I will give a series of more in-depth reviews later in the week when I play more of the games. But my first impressions are WOW. Portal is GREAT. In my opinion it is the most uniquely great FPS idea ever. You shoot portals and go through them to solve puzzles. Team Fortress 2 is also good multiplayer class-based fun. And HL2: Episode one I like so far. I haven't played it before, so I'm going to finish Episode 1 before I start 2. So, if you are looking for one computer game this year, I'd say this is the one.Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...

Xbox 360 Arcade
2007-10-11 22:28:00
Well, this is pretty much official. The much rumored Xbox Arcade system will most likely be released by the holiday season. This package is meant to replace the soon discontinued Core package. The Arcade model will come with a memory card with 5 Xbox Live Arcade games. Also it includes a wireless controllor, and possibly an HDMI port. Both which were not in the Core package. This is good news for those looking for a cheaper system. At less than $300, you can't go wrong.Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...

DS Demo Downloads
2007-10-11 17:42:00
Here's some big news. Soon with your Nintendo Wii you will be able to wirelessly download DS game demos. It's kind of like if you were at your local electronics store, they have the little sicker that says "Nintendo DS Download Station". Except in the comfort of your own home. Very cool if you want to try out games before you shell out $30 for a game you haven't played before. Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...

Awesome Mini-Computer
2007-10-10 18:37:00
This thing is looking really futuristic. The Samsung SPH-P9200 is a mini computer device. The cool thing about it is that it can be folder up. There is a keyboard that folds into a touch pad/screen thing as well as an optical joystick for games on the go. It even comes with a 30gb hard drive, WiFi, 3G connection, and camera. Now that I look at the specs a little more, this is actually a phone of sorts. It even has a SIM card slot... Very cool product. Though, like all cool gadgets, this one is not availiable in the US. You'll have to get it from Korea, sadly.Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...

Amazon MP3 Store
2007-10-08 23:46:00
I know I'm a little late on this. But later this week Amazon released thier MP3 download site. This is a pretty big deal, they are attempting to compete with the current champion iTunes. Apple will definetly have a run for thier money. Not only does Amazon provide cheaper downloads ($.89 a song on top 100 list, $.99 any others) but they provide them DRM free. Also while providing more DRM free songs than iTunes, the downloadable Amazon program also can transfer your tunes to iTunes automatically if you so desire. Overall from what I've heard Amazon's got a good product on thier hands, and Apple better watch thier backs, there's a new sheriff in town. (Hooray cliche!).Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...

Cool Headphone Device
2007-10-08 00:15:00
Theres this new thing for headphones called the RePlug. It is essentially a headphone connector where theres a little magnetic thing that plugs into your iPod, computer, radio etc. headphone jack. And this little nub connects to a plugin thing that you plug your normal headphones into. So basically when you connect the magnetic pieces together, they will stay. And when you pull them apart, they do it safely. Basically if you accidentally unplug your headphones while listening to music, you wont have to worry about the jack breaking or something like that. Also with this device you could quickly detach your headphones if need be. Personally, I wouldn't use this device, simply because my cord gets snagged a lot, and my headphones get unplugged enough as it is... But this would be great for you if you don't like breaking headphones.Thank you for subscribing to my blog! ...
