Do you call people abroad?
2007-09-10 11:39:57
If you look in the window of any convenience store (otherwise known as a corner shop!) down here in London, you’ll see masses of stickers advertising prepaid calling cards to various different places that I’ve never heard of. They’ll rip you off by making you call a really expensive phone number to connect you to the “cheap” rate. However, Pingo have come up with a really good idea that I’ve never particularly heard of before. They sell cell phone card which you can use with your cell (mobile) phone to make cheap calls via that (abroad, etc.. wireless carriers charge LOADS for calls abroad.) Also, they offer loads of other services to go with it such as their PINpass which means you can add up to 10 numbers that don’t require you to enter your account number and pin code - handy if you use their service a lot. Also, when you sign up, you get $5 credit for FREE! Also, for a further discount, enter the coupon code ppp3 when you sign up to get a f ...
Updated a few things on the site…
2007-09-10 11:08:10
I’ve recently been tinkering with Wordpress plugins and code (and was even considering installing a new theme, but I couldn’t really find any that I liked the look of). Couple of things that I’ve changed: Added a new “Sign On” link at the top of the page, which opens in a cool Javascriptey page thingy. (You’ll have to have Javascript turned on in your browser for it to work; it uses the JQuery library, mini version, the full version was taking forever to load. (I was going to use a Scriptaculous version of a similar script, but didn’t like it :D) Added some topsite links and vote buttons to the sidebar (vote if you like the site, please!) Cleared up some bits to do with the sidebar, etc… If you’re looking for shopping, at least try out the shopping search on the side of the page, it gets me 100 votes in one of the topsite scripts. If you’d like a link in my sidebar, just email t…@konk.tv and I would be happy to obli ...

On your holiday, where will you stay?
2007-09-09 13:13:09
When you’re off on holiday, where would you stay? A friend’s/relative’s house? No. A hotel? YES! HotelReservations.com provide an exhaustive database of places where you can stay in many different countries. At first, I went on to their website and saw that it was US-based. However, after careful inspection, I have uncovered that they also operate sub-divisions of their website for non-US customers, just like me! Alongside standard Hotel Reservations, they offer a variety of other things such as motel reservations, car hire, road trip searches, condo rental and “Vacation Rental” which, according to their site is: Any suite-type lodging that has self-catering facilities (wet bar, refrigerator, microwave, etc.)”. Pricing. Even from the first page, you can see that this company has a load of money saving offers. To state a few, they have a gas rebate on at the moment (petrol money) for $30, and you get a $100 rebate when you book a 12 night holiday. Al ...

New headphones, CHEAPSKATE!
2007-09-08 12:41:19
I had to buy a new pair of headphones today because my old ones, quite frankly broke :l It quite ticked me off because they’re only a couple of months old. So, today, I went to Argos and bought the CHEAPEST headset that I could find (then, if they break, I won’t be as irritated as I am today!!) anyway, they came to £4.65 which I reluctantly paid. It’s a brand called “Mikomi”, which I’ve never head of, and they don’t even seem to have their own website after a quick search in Google. On Wikipeida, I’ve read that they’re actually just the electronics own brand name for Argos. It’s working just fine so far, so no worries as of yet! ...
Beach Holidays?
2007-09-07 14:37:19
Going on holiday to another country? Recently, we’ve had really rubbishy weather here in the UK, now Autumn has come upon us, it seems to be boiling, especially on the buses with thousands of other people, it’s unbearable! So, I’d assume you’d want to get away to somewhere, I know I would. Dialaflight offer a lovely selection of Beach Holidays to exotic beach resorts such as the Bahamas, Barbados, Hawaii, pratically anywhere that you could want. Some great tropical holidays that will help you detach yourself from the horrible UK weather. Their site, lets you search for cheap flights, hotels, find a car hire company and everything that you will need to book and plan your holiday. You can call them up to speak with a sales advisor, and they say that they’ll tailor make your holiday to your specific requirements. ...
My phone, the Emblaze Touch7, playing up…
2007-09-07 14:09:17
I got a (now not so) new phone a few months ago called the Emblaze Touch 7. Recently, when I was charging it, it wouldn’t charge (I had left it to charge overnight). The next morning, it had not charged. Odd. The next morning, I checked again (it had been on for another night), still no charge. I left it to charge for a third and final time (third time lucky) and it had finally charged! I realised that I needed to slide it up for the display to light up, and not just look at the screen. Silly me :p ...
Back in the swing of things…
2007-09-07 14:04:44
Yep! After a lovely long holiday to relax I’m back in the swing of same old, same old. How fun =] However, I’ll make sure I update this blog when I have a spare moment (if I find anything worthwhile posting about!) By the way, incase you didn’t know, I use Google Analytics to track who visits this blog, recently, I have seen a massive surge in people who are visiting, but no one seems to comment, please, if you’re reading this, write a comment and give me some tips/suggestions, etc… I’d sure appreciate it! ...
Shopping, shopping, shopping…
2007-08-30 14:17:17
To continue on with the idea of the previous post of online shopping, have you ever wondered about creating your own shop so you can sell stuff to people from all over the globe from your living room? Many companies claim they can do this (if you look around) for an extortionate price, but I’ve found an Australian-based services that doesn’t charge a bomb and looks pretty nice! They offer shopping cart software (the stuff that you need to make your own online shop) as well as dealing with all of the technical side of things, so you don’t even have to know how to run a webserver to make one! Their ecommerce product boasts a variety of features which I haven’t really seen in products like this before such as SMS alerts to the customer and to you for various different things and free tech support if things so wrong. Their basic package is £19.95 per month, which includes the actual place that the script will be hosted and a whole heap of other features, so it&rsqu ...
Shopping online, made easier!
2007-08-29 04:51:16
On my time on the Internet, I’ve seen loads of sites that claim to make shopping online easier, however I have never seen one that is targeted towards people in the UK!! Generally, they’re all US coupon codes or something, but this site is a community that makes shopping online easier. Alongside a directory of places you can shop at, they provide a list of vouchers that you can also use whilst you are shopping at these retailers. This site, which is regularly updated, also features reviews of the products so you can get an independent opinion of the products that you’re buying, not just what the shops make the product up to be! ...
Back from Holiday!
2007-08-29 04:43:22
I recently got back from holiday to find that in my previous post (asking for links), actually got a reply! I don’t know whether I presented the idea very well, but it was in a kinda jokey fashion But, oh well I guess, better than no links at all! Now back to sifting through a massive email inbox full of spam ...
Links, please, anyone?
2007-08-02 11:21:29
I would love it if someone (well, people) would be kind enough to link to Konk on their blog or what-not. Perhaps even a review! I’d be more than happy to link back if you were to do so. Thanks ...
Smorty - monetize your blog!
2007-07-31 07:47:26
As those who read this blog will know, I use various different agencies to try and generate some sort of income. I was reading someone else’s blog (I’m not too sure who’s it was, although I think it was someone from the blogroll’s). Anyway, I came across another advertiser-blogger advertising agency. It’s a company where you blog for money called Smorty. They do have a couple of policy differences to those that I’m used to with other agencies such as; minimum 150 and maximum 400 words on all posts, no matter what. Still, you get paid for blogging, so you can’t complain! Anyway, on to the site now, I’m a very new member of Smorty, infact, Konk was only approved to take oppourtunities today, so I’m still not too sure of my way around and I’m still figuring out some things about the site. However, it looks really nice. The green colour-scheme gives the site a breath of fresh air, also, the site loads quite considerably faster tha ...
