How bizarre…
2007-09-26 13:29:31
If you have found Konk on Google, you may have noticed that for some reason, they had labelled Konk as distributing badware (nasties that get installed on your computer). Of course, I have never distributed badware, and never will, so I swiftly contacted Google, who then reviewed the site, and the warning has been removed! Yay! badware, bizarre, google, review ...
Anglican Home Improvements
2007-09-17 11:06:39
Anglican, incase you have never heard before, is a company which offers a high-quality home-improvement service to people in the UK. One of the things that they sell are UPVC windows (Infact, when the windows in my house were replaced, we used Anglican, and they did a great job!) So, if you’re thinking of getting some new windows installed into your house; perhaps you still have single-glazed, and have decided now is the time to upgrade, I would fully recommend them. If you didn’t know, as well as just looking pretty, if you get double (or even triple) glazed windows, it can actually help to reduce your heating bills as they insulate your house better. On the subject of home improvements, they don’t just offer windows, their selection includes a variety of things such as new doors and conservatories, driveways and the like. They give a free quote, and you can call them up for free, so you’ve got nothing to lose, if you are thinking about it, why not?! No Tags ...

Deck the halls with bells and money…
2007-09-12 15:57:58
Mmmmmmm… I’m already thinking about Christmas, it’s only a couple of months away, and, what’s not to think about? Well, the fact that absolutely everyone expects a present, and you forget someone, meet them a few weeks later and have that awkward silence because you forgot to buy them one and they bought you one. If you’ve ever read a post on this blog before, you’d know that I love cheap stuff and discounts, that where online coupon code from Coupon Chief come in. I’ve blogged about this site before, and still use it to this day, and recommend it to people when they need a coupon, too. For example, my faithful laptop (which I bought in the sales) is starting to fall apart (:’() so I’ve decided to get some money together to buy a new one. Coupon Chief have a selection of Dell coupon codes that I could use to get some money off, so I have a few more pennies for use over the holiday season. They don’t just have technology-relat ...

Where are you guys coming from?
2007-09-12 15:34:30
Recently, I have been tracking how many visitors visit Konk, and I see big surges in the amount of unique visitors to the site mid week (around Wednesday time). What I’m asking is that, how did you find out about the site, as it says most of you come from California. Considering I don’t even live in America, it’d be quite cool to find out. When I started up this blog, I never expected it to be able to attain visitors from places as far as America, neat I just looked through the Archives, and realised that Konk is about 1 1/2 years old! Wow! (By the way, that picture of a Union Jack is a little wrong, but it’s the first one I found, you get the picture…) ...

Clock in, clock out…
2007-09-11 14:50:29
If you run an company with multiple employees, you’ll probably use time sheeting of some sort. If you’re still stuck on paper-based software, don’t you think it’s time to modernize? Yes!! Also, a company called Journyx is offer a free 10-user license for their timesheet software (for both Windows and UNIX/Linux). It has many benefits over non computerized versions. For instance, you’ve not got a load of papers cluttering up the office, just a small computer or laptop, whatever fits the bill for your company and it makes it much easier to manage customer invoicing and payroll automation to name just a few things. What’s more, if you need more than 10 users, you can easily buy another license. They also offer a 45-day free version of their timsheet software, but hosted on their server so that you can try it out without even having to download anything! Go on, get rid of that massive old clock in, clock out clock! ...

iTunes not installed?!
2007-09-11 14:35:25
Recently, whilst trying to open up iTunes to listen to a few songs (I don’t particularly like Macs, I think they’re insanely overpriced, but I LOVE iTunes :D) it presented me with a message saying that it wasn’t installed and wanted a location for the install file!! I eventually found the solution to be The Windows Install Cleanup - it’s free. You just have to download that program, and within it, find the entry for iTunes and for Quicktime and click on remove for both. Next, just reinstall iTunes (download it from Apple) and it should install fine… also, you don’t lost your music library when you reinstall, which I breathed a sigh of relief at, *phew*. After you’ve done the cleanup, you can remove the utility, or do whatever you like with it, it doesn’t really matter. Now if only I could find a way to make iTunes sync with my iRiver. Hrmmm… if only, that’d be so great ...

Do you call people abroad?
2007-09-10 11:39:57
If you look in the window of any convenience store (otherwise known as a corner shop!) down here in London, you’ll see masses of stickers advertising prepaid calling cards to various different places that I’ve never heard of. They’ll rip you off by making you call a really expensive phone number to connect you to the “cheap” rate. However, Pingo have come up with a really good idea that I’ve never particularly heard of before. They sell cell phone card which you can use with your cell (mobile) phone to make cheap calls via that (abroad, etc.. wireless carriers charge LOADS for calls abroad.) Also, they offer loads of other services to go with it such as their PINpass which means you can add up to 10 numbers that don’t require you to enter your account number and pin code - handy if you use their service a lot. Also, when you sign up, you get $5 credit for FREE! Also, for a further discount, enter the coupon code ppp3 when you sign up to get a f ...
