Oh boy! I spent 3 hours scouring the net for news on this 2007 Taekwondo Olympic qualifiers going on in Manchester England. Finally after a bit of luck i caught some! USA Womens Soccer Suffers Worst Defeat in history

It was the worst day for Team USA Soccer in today's semifinal match against highly regarded Brazil soccer team. The lopsided scored 4-0 showed what kind of game the American women had today. But it was also the brilliance of Brazil's Marta who won it for team Brazil scoring 2 goals for this match. Combined with a goal from Cristiane and an error from Leslie Osbourne, 4 goals is what brought down Team USA who was riding on a long undefeated streak coming to this game.Next up for Brazil is the Finals match against defending champions German women's soccer team who defeated team Norway in an almost equally lopsided manner 3-0. Trying to avoid blogging about boycotting the Olympics next year because of lack of merit, I find myself compelled to defend the Olympic games against other people who don't have anything better to blog about. As I have mentioned over a month ago, promoting the boycott does not do anybody any good in this world especially for the athletes who have trained long and hard and only get the chance to be the best in the world every 4 years. No amount of controversy can stop the Olympics from happening! So why blog about it?... I don't know... To "ride" on the controversy I guess... which is a common tactic to get more people to read their blogs of course.Another question that came to mind while I was reading a blog about boycotting the Olympics today is.... Chicago will welcome the greatest amateur boxers in the world to our country less than one year before the Beijing Games. The World Boxing Championships, hosted by World Sport Chicago, will double as the first qualification tournament for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Chicago will host more than 600 athletes from 118 countries over 11 days. The World Boxing Championships will take place October 23 through November 3, 2007 at the University of Illinois-Chicago Pavilion. Filipino Archer Mark Javier became one of the Olympic Qualifiers for the archery competition in Beijing China next year as determined by the results of the 15th Asian Archery championships in Xi'an China last September 14 through 20. After almost a whole day after blogging about Marcos Antonio Torres' bid to be an Olympics Torch Bearer in Beijing next year, he got about 60 votes! Thank you to all those I urged to vote for him! I'd like to think I had a big part of him getting 60 votes today. :D I posted in some sports forums to urge others to vote for him.There's a lot more votes needed to be cast for him to get his bid!
