Red Sox Writer Giving the Tribe Some Love
2008-01-21 19:59:25
Boston Herald writer Tony Massarotti has written a pretty good piece about how the Indians are doing things right in terms of not having to spend $100 million to be a contender in the American League.  Always good when a Red Sox shill writes something like “But don’t forget about the Indians.”  The link to the story is below: Indians Buck Trend ...

Jacobs Field Sign to be Removed Friday Morning
2008-01-17 15:52:26
The ballpark, call it Jacobs Field or now the “Prog” (how stupid does that sound) will Friday become nothing for awhile.  Friday at 9am they are taking the old Jacobs Field sign off the front of the ballpark.  It will stay blank for awhile until they put a new Progressive Field sign on it prior to opening day March 31st.   Ugh, can’t wait. ...
New Ballpark Name Gets Slammed by the PD
2008-01-13 20:40:00
Today’s Plain Dealer is complete with a  rather long article by columnist Michael K. McIntyre on the Indians agreeing to rename Jacobs Field to Progressive Field.  While it’s going to take a few minutes to get through it, it’s a pretty solid article with good points as to why the new name of the ballpark flat out stinks.  Here is a link to the article: Striking out on ballpark’s name ...
Jumping on the Tigers Bandwagon Already
2008-01-11 15:53:11
Bandwagon jumpers are back on the Tigers in full force, with the team making those offseason headline moves to get pitcher Dontrelle Willis and third basemen Miguel Cabrera. This past week the Detroit Free Press polled MLB Scouts and executives and 14 of 18 picked the Tigers to win the AL Central. Not a surprise, as of course when you add two All-Stars while the Tribe did next to nothing, it makes the Tigers stronger while the Indians appear to be staying status quo. With that though, consider if one of those two guys gets hurt, or if one does not pan out as a star in a different league coming from the National League to the American League (it’s happened before). Anyway, pretty good and informative article, you can read it below. AL Central Race; While the Tigers are far from a lock to win the division ...
