Sake power for your car!
2007-06-12 05:40:00
Here's another take on the food vs. fuel debate. Drivers in Japan could soon be filling their automobiles' tanks with a fuel version of the fermented rice wine locally known as Sake. A government-funded pilot project will produce rice-based ethanol for cars, rather than human consumption. The initiative will be carried out in Shinanomachi, with the help of local farmers, who will donate rice hulls and other farm wastes, which will be converted to ethanol. The project will evaluate the biofuel on a "flex-fuel" vehicle, which can run on any mixture of gasoline and green fuels.Japan, which is completely dependent on crude oil imports, is the second-largest consumer of gasoline in the world, behind the United States. The country has been hit hard by the recent increase in crude prices and is looking into locally producing biofuels to decrease costs and meet the stringent carbon emissions reductions set forth in the Kyoto Protocol. However, producing rice-based ethanol that has a price t ...

Conti's at Serendra sucks!
2007-06-12 03:04:00
Here is an interesting readfrom my first guest blogger, my good friend,The BlogmeisterConti?s at Serendra SUCKS! Note: This account is based on my personal experiences and they are factual. I am not writing this to drive away customers from Conti?s but for the management to improve its service. I repeat, Conti?s at Serendra really SUCKS!!! I hope the owners of this restaurant get to read this. Actually, the one that sucks is their customer service. I don?t know if it is the same as the one in BF Paranaque or in Greenhills ( I hope not) but the personnel in the said restaurant is not trained to give quality customer service. It is a pity because the place has good food but the bad customer service will eventually shoo away some customers. My first experience involved a waitress who I think is into drugs. It happened about two months ago when I ate there together with a friend of mine. The waitress took our orders and asked for our drinks. We said that we were going to have iced teas. ...

A Filipino blogger who goes by the moniker AnitoKid is giving away US$100 at the end of this year in conjunction with the first anniversary of this blog, The Anitokid Chronikos - Billiards and Philippine sports. November 20, 2007 marks the day he has blogged for one full year already. I am not sure about you, but when I visit a blog, I like to check out what are one the sidebar. I have discovered many new widgets and stuff from sidebars of blogs. AnitoKid has something that I came across for the first time. Yeah, I know I am slow but being online 24/7 does not mean that I have to know about every single thing that is released online, does it? What this widget that I like the is scrolling list of visitors by city. I think it is way cool. If I have more visitors, I may implement that! I am surprised to see the Nuffnang ad on AnitoKid?s blog because I thought that Nuffnang is ...

Me and my camera on a Saturday - June 9, 2007 (Part 1 of 2)
2007-06-09 05:42:00
Me and my Camera on a SaturdayJune 9, 2007Part 1 of 2It sure is one memorable moment!"I simply can't resist a cat, particularly a purring one. They are the cleanest, cunningest, and most intelligent thingsI know, outside of the girl you love, of course."- Abroad with Mark Twain and Eugene Field, FisherThere is no problem so complexthat it cannot simply be blamed on the pilot. In less enlightened times, the best way to impress womenwas to own a hot car. But women wised up and realizedit was better to buy their own hot carsso they wouldn't have to ride around with jerks.- Scott Adams -The only thing worse than a captainwho never flew as copilotis a copilot who once was a captain.Fetch me a screwdriverA good metaphor is somethingeven the POLICE should keep an eye on."You can't arrest me, I'm a rockstar!"And now for the newsSomething is definitely wrong with this pictureAnd I kid you not! ...

Improve your Rankings and Google PR with ViralTags!
2007-06-07 02:50:00
Got this from FoundersCafe:The internet is all about collaborations, and taking a good idea and mold it into a better one. A few weeks ago, Andy Coates, a new blogger started a link building program he called viralinks. So far it has been quite successful with many bloggers getting into the chain to help each other build links. As nice as it is, however, there is a downside to that chain. It uses no anchor text, but only a * in its place. Andy had mentioned that he tried something else that was similar, but bloggers were slow to ping back (or not at all) with an anchor text. So the stars were used instead. I got my other linking program going with my revenue sharing reservation list, but it seems that most people are slow to adapt it because they thought that a full review of my blog is needed, which is NOT. That got me thinking. If that program can be improved by using anchor text while using an easier way to know what anchor text other bloggers want on the matrix, shouldn?t that be ...

The cardinal rule at The Cardinal Santos Hospital: 15T down or you're out!
2007-06-04 23:17:00
Here's an interesting read from my email. I'm posting it in its entirety. Read on...Just don't know if this also holds for HMO cardholders. ..Dear Would be Sick Friends, Here is a real life experience I had when I took my grandson to Cardinal Santos Hospital, a hospital named after the memory of a very passionate Christian man and servant leader. This happened last Feb 9, Wednesday 10:30 pm at the Cardinal Santos Emergency Room. THE CARDINAL RULE AT CARDINAL SANTOS HOSPITAL15T DOWN OR YOU'RE OUT "For admission po ba ang apo ninyo? Mag-down po kayo ng P15 thousand!" This was the cold reception of the admitting officer at Cardinal Santos Hospital as I shiver upon the diagnosis of resident doctor (Dr. Joan Tan from the emergency room) that my 6 month old grandson (Xandro Ynigo Blanco Zubia) had pneumonia and needed admission. I bled dry. Nanuyo lalamunan ko, nanginig buong laman ko, halos maubos ang dugo-I could have dropped dead and mistaken for dead on arrival. Face to face with ...
