How to add Yahoo ! online presence to your web page ?
Showing your online presence helps your readers to give you feedbacks or ask some questions. If you want to show your online presence, Yahoo ! has a feature for doing this. All you need to do is simply place a HTML code in your webpage.Yahoo online presence HTML creatorJust change the default "dairyman88" with your's and copy the code. This code will display images which show whether you are online or offline. When the user clicks on this image, it will open a new chat window through which any visitor can send you a message. Even if you are not online, the visitor can still send a message and you will be able to view it when you sign in next time. You can also use this code elsewhere where you want people to socialize with you online through yahoo like forums, discussion boards....Spamming increases with this kind of things normally. So I recommend you to use another Yahoo ! ID before you insert the code.Thnx to Mr.Byte.
Yahoo! goes green
A few month's ago, after one of my first blog posts, Smith pointed out a pretty cool site, do the right thing.com. Browsing through some of the stories this morning I came across this piece by Josh Catone. So, it seems like Yahoo's wanting to push the green angle. Nothing sensational there as it's hardly the first big corporation to do so, but the campaigns it's running are worth a mention. The first, Yahoo! Green, aims to be a climate change portal. It includes not only information and news regarding climate change, but also a pretty cool Take Action page. Here users can customise their own carbon emission reduction plan by dragging and dropping a variety of CO2 lowering activities onto their personalised courses of action. The site then calculates and displays how much carbon the user's plan will save. The second campaign, Be a Better Planet, is a competition aiming to reward the most eco-friendly city in the States. By performing a number of carbon saving activities users
The launch of Yahoo! Local 1.6
Yahoo! launched Yahoo! Local 1.6 just yesterday. The upgrade means that Yahoo! Local is back in the UK mapped services directory game. With the new release comes two improvements: They have a new data provider. Infoserve data replaced BT data, giving Yahoo! Local greater freedom in terms of product enhancements. It also gives Yahoo! the opportunity to source from other data providers, as Infoserve is not going to be the exclusive provider this time. It means that Yahoo! Local has the potential to provide a much broader service than it did before. Infoserve clients can now be integrated into the Sponsored Links section of Yahoo! searches as part of a reseller agreement. This will drive business towards Infoserve and the increase in competition will mean that the value of the Sponsored Links will also rise, increasing the revenue that Yahoo! gets from them. So now it truly is a mutually beneficial relationship For Yahoo! Local and Infoserve. Apart from that, a Yahoo! Local

Announcing The Yahoo! Publisher Network Self-Serve Beta
You may have heard a few rumors over the past few months about Yahoo! developing more solutions for small- and medium-sized publishers. Well, those rumors are true, and we're 100% committed to living up to them.I'm proud to announce today that Yahoo! has launched a beta network in the U.S. for small- and medium-sized publishers. Currently available through invitation only, as Yahoo! tests and refines the new platform, small- and medium-sized publishers can easily sign up online and access new revenue sources and enhanced Yahoo! content through our new self-serve platform. Our goal is to extend the beta to more publishers by the end of the year.We spoke to many Web publishers throughout our alpha phase to get a sense of what you want out of a publishing platform. Several things became clear: In addition to the obvious -- competitive revenue opportunities - you expressed a desire for more ways to enhance the content of your sites and connect with your users. You also indicated that you
