Well, there have been rumors floating around that Microsoft will be cutting the Xbox 360 price down $50. That rumor was quickly shut down and put aside. But a Walmart ad brings it back in the game. This is kind of like how the PS3 price drop occured. There was an ad for it that got leaked on the internet, then a week or so later it was officially announced. Deja vu...Also Target had announced that they would only carry Blu-Ray DVDs, which puts them on one side of the HD format war. But that isn't entirely true. Ubisoft who are bringing ABC’s popular TV series to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, have announced that the game should be ready for release in the first quarter of 2008. There is now a HD Trailer for this game which is based around the survivors of a plane crash on a mystery island. The trailer does not give much away, which seems funny as the TV series to Lost is just the same. What we can say is the Lost game trailer really does look fantastic. Producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof have supposedly been working closely with Ubisoft, to give us a storyline that is just like the TV series. Makers of casual games such as PlayFirst and Hudson entertainment are getting together to bring these kind of games to digital download. It is hoped that these games will be available on both the Xbox Marketplace and the PSN sometime in 2008. This will be great news for fans of casual games such as, Chocolatier, Diner Dash, Oasis, and Mystery of Shark Island. For those of you who laugh at these casual games just remember one thing, although not as complex as other big title games Diner Dash has made a serious amount of money, which will put other mainstream games to shame. Well, recently the High Definition Disc Drive add-on for the Xbox 360 has been cut in price. By a mere $20, which I don't think is enough, but it does come with 5 free HDDVDs. People always complain how the PS3 is so much more expensive than the 360. Sure, technically it is, but if you wanted all of the features of a PS3 (like the HD compatibility) it would cost you $580 for the Xbox 360 premium packagae + HD Drive. So in effect the 360 is more expensive. There has also been rumors of an Xbox 360 price cut to compete with the PS3's. But there has been no confirmation, and it is unlikely to happen. Rumors are always circling about price cuts for the Xbox 360, The Hollywood Reporter, who is normally a good source of information is saying that they have some news from an unnamed source who thinks that there will be a $50 price drop on the 8th August. It seems that the price drop has been timed, as sales always drop at this time off year, so this $50 saving is hoped to boast sales again. It is not known if this Xbox 360 price drop is because Microsoft just wants to pass on savings to consumers, if it is out of guilt from Xbox 360’s with the Red Ring of Death. Bad news for all you gamers who were hoping for a 2007 release for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, as it now seems that this PC and Xbox game is delayed until the first quarter of 2008. Splinter Cell will be gutted at this news, because only last month Ubisoft had said that the new game will be released in November 2007. Gamers will be scratching their heads, as Ubisoft have given no reason for the delay, many believe that Ubisoft already have their hands full with new titles coming out of the holiday period, which include titles such as Assassin’s Creed and Haze. Both these Ubisoft titles have a November release date, so it was a good idea on Ubisoft’s side to put Splinter Cell Conviction back a couple of months. The latest horror game from Codemasters is Clive Barker’s Jericho, the game will appear on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms. There has been a number of GTA IV screen shots of Niko just standing in the sunset, but now there are ten new screen shots of Rockstar’s game for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. These shots show us what we all want to see, and that is Niko driving and walking around with his guns blazing. These new shots show us that the new GTA IV game takes on a Hollywood blockbuster style, as we see Niko hanging from the back of a lorry, even down to win he shots someone, and you actually see him gritting his teeth. This is a game intro video for Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights which will be coming to the PC, Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3. To some gamers Juiced 2 is the hottest street racing around while I have heard others say that the first game was absolutely terrible. With racing games they should be realistic so that means night and daytime driving like this video game trailer shows (this is something my friend does not like, he hates nighttime driving). Halo-themed Xbox 360 hints at Microsoft making HDMI output standard-issue When Peter Moore lifted up the Halo Special Edition Xbox 360 console at its reveal at the Microsoft E3 press conference on Tuesday night, most onlookers were likely disappointed by the lack of any truly new hardware, such as a built-in HD DVD drive, or price drop. But easily overlooked is the fact that the Halo-themed console could offer a glimpse into the future hardware versions of the Xbox 360. Although central to the announcement of the green and gold Xbox 360 is its Master Chief motif, a closer look at the specifications of this special edition box reveal that it is equipped with an HDMI port. This in itself is not groundbreaking for the console, as the Xbox 360 Elite as it is currently carries the HDMI port. What it wasn’t able to boast yet was that all of its members had full access to one of Xbox Live’s most compelling features – the Video Marketplace. On the Xbox Live Video Marketplace, users have access to purchase or rent standard definition and high definition TV shows and movies onto their hard disk drives.
