| | Xbox 360: Price Cut Is Official Starting Today, August 8th 2007-08-08 08:00:05

| | Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360: HMV taking MGS 4 online pre-orders 2007-08-06 04:06:46
Following on from our story that Xbox 360 is Getting Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots; it now seems as if those rumors are true because HMV are now taking online pre-orders in the UK. It does seem strange that HMV are taking online pre-orders of MGS 4 even before there has been any official confirmation or announcement from game maker Konami that the game is coming to the Xbox.
So the question is do HMV know something that many of us do not know, or have they just got a bit confused. There must be something in it though, as HMV have the release date for Metal Gear Solid 4 on the Xbox 360 five months later than the PS3 release date.
Pre-order MGS 4 on the Xbox 360 now

| | Two heatsinks for the Xbox 360 Elite: How sick are standard Xbox 360 users now 2007-08-01 12:23:38
It has now been confirmed that the new Xbox 360 Elite is to get a second heatsink. Having two heatsinks will prevent the games console from overheating. This should sort the Red Ring of Death problem out.
This is not great news for people who have the standard Xbox 360, for those who going to purchase the new Elite from Microsoft then the news is great. The second heat sink will help to boost the stability.
My brother wanted to purchase a console last week, I told him to wait for the Xbox 360 Elite, but he went against my advice and purchased a standard Xbox 360. With this news he must be feeling pretty sick with himself right now.

| | PS3 and Xbox 360 cross platform online gaming 2007-07-31 13:44:06
There is an idea to figure out who is the king of the consoles, PS3 and Xbox 360 cross platform online gaming tournaments. The way this would work is say 4 or 5 times a year Microsoft and Sony should bang their heads together to create online gaming tournaments between the Xbox 360 gamers and the Playstation 3 gamers.
Obviously there would be a tiny fee to enter the cross platform online gaming tournaments, and at the end of the gaming between these two platforms they can tally up who are better at games. They could even have an online debating competition where people talk online of which everything is recorded on how they feel about the PS3 and the 360.
To have both platforms joining together online would make everyone so happy it is unreal.
Do you think Sony and Microsoft should have PS3 and Xbox 360 cross platform online gaming?

| | The PS3 vs Xbox 360 console war goes on: Is it getting out of hand 2007-07-31 12:06:46
I started all this off which I am sorry about, what started out to be a simple question which was “My Xbox 360 games and Pal 60 problems” led on to become a massive debate, then the story carried on to Breakdown of Sony PS3 vs Xbox 360 peripherals: Chris tries to sway opinions (Link) which was posted by Daniel. Now we seem to have the PS3 vs Xbox 360 console war.
It seems to be now that the PS3 vs Xbox 360 console war goes on and the question is “Is it getting out of hand? A reader of ours called Chris has gone on to say –
Chris Says –
Hey mates, I didn’t want to get into an argument like this, either. All I was doing was looking up the Playstation 3 on Google News when I came across this blog, and the Anti-Playstation 3 comments urged me to set things straight, or at least even out the balance.
There’s no doubt that I’m obviously outnumbered here by Xbox 360 fanbo- erm, supporters. Maybe I’m the only person here who has factual knowledge of the Playstation 3, and I | | Xbox 360: Price Cut Coming in August, Allegedly 2007-07-31 08:00:41
Looks like my cheapness has finally paid off. Following Sony’s price cut on the 60GB Playstation from $599 to $499 (Be aware, that’s a temp cut and is more of a clearance sale as the price will go back up when they sell the remain stock of 60GB devices.) it appears that Microsoft is ready to follow suit, allegedly of course. The rumor is that Microsoft will drop the price by $50 starting August 8th, but it’s not clear if the cut will be on all three platform levels or not.
The particular date of the rumor price cut carries significance to the Xbox 360, according the Hollywood Reporter:
As for the Aug. 8 date, there is significance to the timing. Not only will Electronic Arts’ “Madden NFL 08″ be reaching stores shelves just a few days after the drop, but Microsoft also has several other highly touted games, including “BioShock” by publisher Irrational Games and “John Woo Presents Stranglehold” from Tiger Hill Entertainm | | Sony sued for PS3 Cell processor patent violation: Xbox 360 fans laughing 2007-07-31 04:49:44
Many Xbox 360 fans are going to laugh about the news that Sony are being sued yet again, but as owner of both the PS3 and Xbox 360 I do think that this is a serious issue. The suit is for a patent violation of Sony’s Cell Processor. Parallel Processing Corporation of Newport Beach, California is the company taking Sony to Court in Texas, and state that the cell processor that Sony is using in their PS3 violates a patent.
The violation is with the “synchronized parallel processing with shared memory,” PPC has stated that Sony is causing some “irreparable harm and monetary damage” to their company, which is why they are seeking compensation for damages plus interest, PPC also wants to see the impounding and destruction of all PS3 consoles that infringe on this patent.
This is yet another blow for the PS3, just when we thought that they were getting on top of all their troubles and increasing their sales they get hit with this lawsuit.
Do you think that this could hurt the PS3, | | My Xbox 360 games and Pal 60 problems 2007-07-30 11:20:31
Now before I get into this I must say I am so ticked of it is unreal and have pulled out all my hair. To start things off I have to say I really put all hands up and bow effortlessly to the Xbox 360, I was so confused of what games console to buy, I had the choice of the Nintendo Wii, the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 then I had the choice of waiting for the Xbox 360 Elite, but have to say I could not wait for the Elite so I chose the Xbox 360 and am glad to say I have made the right choice.
Right now to the “My Xbox 360 games and Pal 60 problems” I recently bought from Pixmania a 27 inch LCD HD ready TV which was from Paris, I received my LCD TV which I am very happy about. The TV is stunning and for £299 I cannot complain at all (well until now).
I got my Xbox 360 2 weeks ago and am so happy with the game play and graphics it is awesome, I got a package deal which consists of the Xbox 360 console, wireless controller, headphones, Forza 2 Motorsports game and Ghost Recon: Adva | | NBA 2K8 in Action: Dunk Contest Video Walkthrough Sony PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 2007-07-29 05:39:48
