On its site for the Consumer Electronics Show 2008, Sony has revealed that they will be offering the popular Skype voice chat integration for the PSP. Rumors of including the PSP voice chat feature for the gaming device have been doing rounds since long, and in fact affiliations in Europe with British Telecom and Go!Messenger for European territories have also been created. In fact, it has also been known that Go!Messenger will enable instant messaging along with voice chat, however no such plans have since been announced for North America. But all the same, in Sony’s CES 2008 website, the company has enlisted Skype functionality under the PSP’s features, stating that users can, “call friends, talk trash to fellow gamers, or catch up with acquaintances via Skype for PSP system.” Though there are no further details such as release date, specs etc known currently, but the CES site clearly mentions that the Skype voice chat integration for the PSP is sure to happen. Sony Alpha 200 - first impressions.The Sony Alpha 200 is very similar to the Sony Alpha 700 when it comes to the body. Naturally, some knobs and dials were removed from the camera to make it less intimidating to beginners, but the ergonomics don't really suffer for it, and in addition, the camera still has all the nice features the Alpha 100 had, and adds a few that were exclusive to the Alpha 700.To be brief - Sony have just made another giant stride forward by making this camera appeal to all those first-time photographers who are familiar with the Sony brand. Not only that, it'll also appeal to Minolta users - there's enough of that old Minolta magic in this camera, so it doesn't feel like a cheap electronic gizmo, but like a real camera. After a year-long stint as the company’s debut DSLR, the A100 finally has a successor. It isn’t much different, though: Sony markets it as "faster, lighter, and easier to use," according to their January 6 press release. The Sony ? Today at CES amongst OLED TVs, the Mylo handheld and Rolly robotic music companion, Sony announced the third Alpha DSLR, the A200 - and we were there to try it out! The A200 is like a compact version of the A100. It's smaller and lighter than its predecessor, with a slightly bigger 2.7in 230k screen, but the same 10.2 Mpixel CCD sensor. The AF system remains 9-point, but the speed is noticeably quicker and it's a little quieter too. The Alpha A200 should be on sale in February for $699 USD in a kit with the DT 18-70mm lens. At the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas NV, Sony introduced the successor to its Alpha 100 digital SLR. The Alpha 200 has a more compact body and a slightly larger 2.7-inch LCD, new firmware, and a top light-sensitivity setting of ISO 3200 instead of the Alpha 100’s ISO 1600. Sony also says it offers improved optical image stabilization algorithms, an autofocus speed that is 1.7 times faster than the Alpha 100’s, improved image-noise control, and a quieter shutter. The new camera’s battery system provides a percentage-remaining readout as well. To achieve the Alpha 200’s more compact design, Sony removed a top-mounted control dial that provided direct access to several frequently used settings. Fortunately, the designers added a dedicated ISO button to preserve quick access to that setting, as well as a function-menu button for efficient adjustment to other frequently used controls.
