PlayStation 3’s head of marketing Warwick Light, over in New Zealand, has been quoted as saying that Sony wishes to bring a Digital TV Tuner to their PS3 by March 2008. This will then turn the Sony Playstation into a fully fledged DVR. Warwick added “We’re also hoping next year – about the same time that Freeview launches its terrestrial broadcasting service (expected to be in March) – to release a digital tuner for the PS3, turning it into a programmable TV recorder.” Let us hope that this quote is true, as the release of Digital TV could increase the capabilities of the PS3 massively. Many Xbox 360 fans are going to laugh about the news that Sony are being sued yet again, but as owner of both the PS3 and Xbox 360 I do think that this is a serious issue. The suit is for a patent violation of Sony’s Cell Processor. Parallel Processing Corporation of Newport Beach, California is the company taking Sony to Court in Texas, and state that the cell processor that Sony is using in their PS3 violates a patent. The violation is with the “synchronized parallel processing with shared memory,” PPC has stated that Sony is causing some “irreparable harm and monetary damage” to their company, which is why they are seeking compensation for damages plus interest, PPC also wants to see the impounding and destruction of all PS3 consoles that infringe on this patent. This is yet another blow for the PS3, just when we thought that they were getting on top of all their troubles and increasing their sales they get hit with this lawsuit. Sky and Computer Entertainment Europe have now joint forces to start a new company to give PSP owners a great new service. The service is video on demand for more that 2.3 million PSP users in the UK and Ireland for the moment, but it is hoped that the rest of Europe will not be far behind. The new company from Sky and Computer Entertainment Europe are hoping to give their PSP users a wealth of video and also film content. We do not know much more at the moment, there are no more details that we can find for the moment, but more details will be announced on the 22nd August at the Games Convention in Leipzig. This is a gameplay video of LocoRoco 2 that was taken at Develop 07; you can see the video below and then share a comment with your thoughts. Some gamers feel the music rocks while others find it very annoying, so I guess you’re going to love or hate it. If you played the first game on the Sony PSP then you’re going to love this version that will be on the Sony PS3 Playstation Network. LocoRoco 2 does look a little confusing on a bigger screen, but overall it should feel the same as the PSP version. Oh boy what have you gone and done Sony, Sony has just revealed their new HD Video Walkman but damn this one needs plastic surgery. First impressions are always the key thing when buying something and if you see this one what are the odds on you buying the ugliest machine (none, unless your eyes are bad. Ok now to the device, this is the worlds first HD video Walkman and ok it may be ugly but sitting back for a while and just staring at it does not seem that bad after all, sorry it is still ugly. It is only because it is the worlds first HD video Walkman and the specs see to have some appeal to them. The Sony VGN-TXN15P / B screams good look and taste from the first glance, with an excellent screen though it may be small and fine speakers; as expected on a Sony Vaio. One feature which to me stands out incredibly is the 11 hour battery life it has, which I would not only find useful but extremely impressive. The laptop is let down with the small, ‘cramped’ feel the keyboard gives, merging your two hands too close together for comfortable typing. This is a video of some screens from the upcoming Metal Gear Online for the Sony PS3, the images give us a look at what we can look forward to although I am not sure on the exact release date for Metal Gear Online on the Playstation 3.
