Now this one really cracks me up, the Sony PS3 is getting prepped for a clip on display by Nevover. Right my point is yes I can understand little consoles having a clip on display so you can lug it around, you know say the size of a Nintendo Wii, but a Playstation 3 (let me think).
Nevover are the ones that think that there are many gamers out there that are willing to lug a console around with a screen attached, they are apparently planning on offer a clip on screen to the PS3, it is unlikely that this will ever be released but hey let me entertain you anyway.
The screen will be about 7 inches with a 480×234 resolution with a high refresh rate, it will also feature a pair of 1 watt speakers and dual headphone jacks. There is as usual no release date (if ever) and no word on pricing.
Do you think that they should make this Sony PS3 with clip on display?

| | Sonic Riders Zero Gravity coming to a Sony PS2 & Nintendo Wii: Let’s have it hedgehog 2007-08-15 05:26:00
Oh yes the little Sonic is coming, Sonic the Hedgehog will be coming to a PS2 and Wii near you. The Sony Playstation 2 and the Nintendo Wii will be the next recipients of another new game starring the blue hedgehog “Sonic”.
The new game is called Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity which is the sequel to the boring Sonic Riders way back in 2006. At the moment I cannot find any details of the Wii version of the game but has been said that it will include the trick system from the first title.

| | Sony PS3 & Microsoft Xbox 360 (Elite) Poll: Please help me decide? 2007-08-13 10:03:45
Now this is a real poll and not an attempt to cause a war between two platforms I promise you that, I really do have a dilemma. I recently bought an Xbox 360 and am really happy with the game play and graphics, I must say playing online is bloody awesome. Everything about the 360 is great and would not change it, but and a big BUT “It is so noisy and even more so with an intercooler attached”.
Now here is my thing, my cousin had the Xbox 360 and he swore by it until it broke down (oops), so he decided to take it back and in the end he got a full refund. Now his question is does he buy the Xbox 360 Elite or does he by the Sony Playstation 3; well he opted for the PS3 and now he is trying to convert me.
I have recently played the PS3 and must admit am impressed with the graphics, downsides are the Blu-ray seems a little jumpy to me and there are not as many titles as the 360, but I am still confused. Will my cousin convert me, will you convert me.

Sony has very recently unveiled its sexy 11.1-inch notebook pc VAIO TZ18GN, which is thankfully equipped with SSD instead of HDD. This is great news, simply because an SSD based notebook pc features significantly faster booting speed.
Not only that, but it will feature a lighter weight and a much longer battery life than existing HDD based laptops we are all used to. The TZ18GN is really impressive weighing just 1.15kg and lasting 11.5 hours.
Details as to whether or not it will reach the States is unconfirmed, but let’s hope so. Sony are really revolutionising and changing the way notebooks pcs are being made on a daily basis and how we love it.

| | Sony in trouble over UK PS3 advert: glamorised violence & anti-social behaviour 2007-08-08 09:17:55
Sony oh Sony oh Sony what are you doing, we know you make some messed up TV commercials for the PS3 which hands up are good and invigorating. Sony are in hot water over their UK PS3 advert which the Advertising Standards Authority say there are fears that this advertisement could potentially glamorise violence of which can also lead to anti-social behaviour.
The Playstation advert that is in question features a character called Kovac and he is holding a knife and of which there are words saying “Kovac mercenary or misunderstood?” there is also the tag line “This is living”.
There have been numerous complaints and the ASA investigated said that it broke advertising rules relating to responsibility and violence, Sony have now been told that they must amend all future adverts to avoid similar incidents happening again.
Do you think PS3 adverts are glamorising violence which lead to anti-social behaviour?

| | Sony VAIO UX280P UMPC: Great Specs, Ugly Design 2007-08-04 05:08:01
The extremely pricey UMPC by Sony has deemed itself a true breakthrough in portable technology, giving us specs that we really didn’t expect for many years to come. It’s unusual design has proved a real let-down, but thanks to it’s great insides, the Sony VAIO UX280P will and has become successful.
The VAIO UX Micro PC is so incredibly miniscule and lightweight it really is hard to believe it’s a fully-functioning PC. But this incredibly compact UMPC is designed for productivity on the go and it really has achieved that.
The main negative point about this product is, as mentioned, the huge price tag it comes with, standard with most Sony products. At roughly $1,899 the Sony VAIO UX280P UMPC should not let you down, which it achieves.

Sony prepare to launch their slim, Windows Vista compatible USB memory ‘Pocket Bit Mini’, which supports the ReadyBoost function from the OS. 1GB and 2GB options are available in both black and white.
Just a note from the Microsoft site to clear up any issues:
Windows Vista introduces Windows ReadyBoost, a new concept in adding memory to a system. You can use non-volatile flash memory, such as that on a universal serial bus (USB) flash drive, to improve performance without having to add additional memory “under the hood.”
Pretty nifty, I dare to think how much they will cost though.

| | Sony confirms it is illegal to sell a PS3 in Argentina 2007-08-01 13:27:40
Sony has now confirmed that it is illegal to sell the PS3 in Argentina, as a result the Japanese electronics giant will not be sending any of their games consoles to the country. Sony has issued a warning to big dealers in Argentina that those who have imported some Playstation 3’s should abstain from importing anymore consoles.
The reason why it is illegal to sell the PS3 in the region is the fact that Sony has to certify it for compliance with the local RF spectrum regulations. The frequencies watchdog agency has said that the Japanese giant has not initiated the certification for the device’s Bluetooth capability, and until they have got that and approval, then it is not legal for Sony to sell their games console.
