Manhunt 2 is finally being released for the Sony PlayStation 2, and PSP and also on the Nintendo Wii, Rockstar Games has now an M rating and will be releasing it in tome for Halloween on the 31st October. Rockstar Games has said that Manhunt 2 is very important to them and they are glad that fans will be able to enjoy the new game soon. We wrote earlier this month that Rockstar was mounting an appeal in regards to the desscion of the BBFC to have an outright ban for Manhunt 2 in the UK; this was the first game in ten years that the British Board of Film Censors have banned game. After taking some inspiration from the game Gran Turismo HD, SCEI has revealed that the upcoming racing title Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be released for free on the PlayStation Network for the PS3. Apparently Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will feature 16-player online races with 50 cars and 5 tracks and support for 1080p resolution. Sony, one of the world's largest battery makers, said it had succeeded in creating a battery that produces electricity by breaking down sugar. The bio cell, which measures 39 millimeters cubed, delivers 50mW (milliWatts). The bio cell has sugar-digesting enzymes at the anode that extract electrons and hydrogen ions from the glucose. The hydrogen ions pass through a membrane separator to the cathode where they absorb oxygen from the air to produce water as a byproduct. Gabe Newell, from Valve Software the developer for the popular game Half-Life has said that the popular games console Nintendo Wii will factor hugely for their future developments, Newell states that the Wii is more valuable than the Sony PS3 and also the Microsoft Xbox 360. Although Valve Software has nothing in development at the moment for the Nintendo Wii Gabe has said that the games console “represents big opportunities as a whole”, he then went on to say that them not having any games on the Wii is “an obvious hole in our strategy.” Gabe Newell said that when you develop a game for the Xbox 360, PS3 or even a PC you design a game around the graphics, but with the Wii you have to think about the game more fundamentally. Back on August 1st we reported that the Sony PS3 was getting a TV tuner, well as expected Sony have announced at the Leipzig Games Convention that the Playstation 3 will be getting the digital TV Tuner which Sony are calling PlayTV. This great new device will give the Playstation the ability to record high-definition TV broadcasts direct to their hard drive, and these recordings can also be transferred onto a PSP as well. But Sony have not finished there as they have announced yet another new service called Go, this is for PSP owners which is a new video download service where you can purchase then download a movie direct to their PSP. The Sony PSP will be getting VOIP thanks to a partnership of the two giants Japan’s Sony Corp. and the BT Group (British telephone provider), the new piece of software (Go!Messenger) will allow the Playstation Portable to send and receive instant messages, make voice and video calls while in a game. Thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi (something not even the new Xbox 360 Elite has) the connection is made easily to establish voice communications between gamers. It has now been confirmed by Maxis that there are plans to develop a version of Spore for consoles like the Xbox 360, Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii, although they also said that they will not release them alongside the PC and DS versions. The news was broke during a behind closed doors demo of the game at this week’s Leipzig GC. Someone asked Maxis exec Patrick Buechener whether Spore will hit consoles and he said “Not right now, but we see this as a franchise.” And also followed with “It just won’t be at launch.” The Nintendo Wii could do good things with this game, it would not need amazing graphics and the Wii’s control system would be fun while you evolve a single celled organism into a complex creature and eventually an entire civilisation. As I mentioned before I want to buy a Sony Playstation 3 (as I own the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii), but was not sure to wait for more games and maybe a better Blu-ray player. After watching the Sony Playstation Eye trailer below which shows a collection of games and apps that will feature on it, I may get one sooner. I have seen the Blu-ray on the PS3 in action and it plays very well just like Sky HD. The UK Mobile Contract Tracker charts have shown to hot mobile phones in first and second places. In the number one spot it’s the extremely popular Samsung U600 which has been unbeatable for the last three months, but now the Sony Ericsson W580i music slider phone has jumped up 19 spots to take 2nd place in just 2 weeks. Could this phone be the one to knock the Samsung U600 from its long-standing pole position? I brought an Xbox 360 as soon as they came out a long time ago and although it’s a known fact that they have overheating problems mine has never broke down, but it does get hot and is very noisy. As I have a nice big collection of Xbox 360 games I will not change console now, but I did buy a Nintendo Wii to see what all the fuss was about…I know why now. While the Nintendo Wii is not my main games system for games that I play on my own, it does take over the gaming when we have people over. The Nintendo Wii is amazing for groups of people and I have never known another gaming system so good at getting everyone involved at all ages, although the graphics are a bit rubbish it is the games console of choice when I have people over. Now here is my problem: If you were in my situation and owned the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, would you buy a Sony PS3 for just Blu-ray and Playstation 3 games that are not on the Xbox 360?
