President Bush: Not Such A Lame Duck After All. . .
Typically, Presidents in their last 2 years focus on issues that are generally popular and ones they feel they can get past a hostile Congress. President Clinton focused on seat belt laws and the Head Start program. Reagan focused on preserving his early accomplishments and solidifying his foreign policy goals (most of the goals had been achieved). Nevertheless, in the face of losing congress last year, George Bush has not veered from the most important objective of his presidency.Months later the Iraq Study Group led by Saudiphile and antisemite James Baker stated:"The situation in Iraq is grave and deteriorating. ... A slide toward chaos could trigger the collapse of Iraq's government and a humanitarian disaster. ... The situation in Baghdad and several provinces is dire. ... Pessimism is pervasive. ... Violence is increasing in scope, complexity and lethality." Bush treated the Iraq Study Group's findings as they should have been - worthless. All the while facing a Democrat majori

Bush, S. Korean President Clash Over Ending Korean War
Many of you out there are no doubt confused. The Korean War ended decades ago, right? Wrong! The war has never ended ... kind of like our war with Iraq never ended in the 90's. You still get combat pay when you are deployed to Korea because it is a war zone. The S. Korean president wanted Bush to formally end the war with N. Korea, but Bush refused. Breitbart: Bush said that during his

Will President Bush bomb Iran?
Well we all have this fear looming in the back of our minds --- but this article addresses this possibility quite directly. In a nondescript room, two blocks from the American Capitol building, a group of Bush administration staffers is gathered to consider the gravest threat their government has faced this century: the testing of a nuclear weapon by Iran......On Tuesday, President Bush dramatically stepped up his war of words with the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whom the US government accuses of overseeing a covert programme to develop nuclear weapons. In a speech to war veterans, Mr Bush said: "Iran's active pursuit of technology that could lead to nuclear weapons threatens to put a region already known for instability and violence under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust."He went on to condemn Iranian meddling in Iraq, where America increasingly blames the deaths of its soldiers on Iranian bombs and missiles. Mr Bush made clear
Bank president: Subprime ‘won’t hurt’ CCB
China Construction Bank (CCB) said its revenue won’t be affected by the US subprime crisis as it has only a small amount of US mortgage-backed securities. CCB, one of the Big Four State-controlled banks, held US$1.06 billion worth of US mortgage-backed and related bonds at the end of June, accounting for 2.75 percent of its total investment in foreign exchange bonds, it said in its interim report yesterday. “CCB did have a loss from the investment if calculated at the current market value of the securities,” said Zhang Jianguo, president of the bank. “But the loss is not significant enough to seriously affect revenue and is well within CCB’s capacity to bear.” Zhang said the bank held US$460 million in US subprime mortgage-backed bonds, accounting for less than half of its total investment of $1.062 billion in US mortgage-backed and related bonds. He said the US securities it held had high credit ratings of A or above and more than 80 percent were
President Bush Wants $50 Billion Dollars to Continue War in Iraq
I simply cannot comprehend the mind of this human being who is failing so miserably as the leader of the people of the United States of America.Does he have access to the media under that rock he is living under? I don't imagine that he does, or he would know that our citizens are suffering and suffering greatly. - There are still many people who are in dire need of financial aid because they do not have any type of health insurance due to the excessive cost of the premiums. - There are still many people who have been affected by hurricanes and floods and are awaiting financial aid which is way too long in arriving. - There are still many people who are struggling to take care of their families, who, because of job layoffs are being forced to rely upon government assistance. - There are still many people who are frightened to cross over more than 100 bridges since they have been recently reported to be structurally unsafe for public use. I dearly hope that my fellow Democrats who are
Hidden Message in Metroid 3: maybe Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president
According to a user on Game Trailers and the video clip below, there seems to be a hidden message in Metroid 3 and it may even be Satoru Iwata (Nintendo’s President). The user found the message while they were playing around with the radio in Samus’s ship in Metroid Prime 3, although I don’t understand Japanese (maybe someone can let us all know what the message is saying). Update: This is apparently what the message translates into: “Hello, this is Iwata from Nintendo. You may not know from an outsider’s point of view, but being a director is really hard! When things are really busy and stressful we (us directors) may look tired and sick, then people may feel sorry for us! But in my case, it’s the opposite, I get fatter and fatter, so then people don’t think I’m stressed at all!” Written by Daniel for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Nintendo Wii, Gaming
President George Bush promises better days ahead for Katrina sufferers
President of the United States recently praised the people of Louisiana and Mississippi, after visiting two years subsequent to the horrific events of Hurricane Katrina. The hurricane claimed the lives of 1,600 people, and flooded much of the area, including a New Orleans school where President Bush earlier told an audience that “better days are ahead.” Also on Mr Bush’s agenda was to observe a minute’s silence at Dr Martin Luther King Charter School for Math and Science, which incidently was one of the first schools to reopen after the hurricane. President Bush wanted to establish that although the hurricane destroyed much of the area physically, their spirit is as strong as ever. In his words, “Hurricane Katrina broke the levees, it broke a lot of hearts, it destroyed buildings, but it didn’t affect the spirit of this community.” As well as visiting the affected area, he has also allocated $114 billion for relief and rebuilding efforts, and s
Bush Loyalist Clay Johnson To Be appointed At Homeland Security By President Bush
It has been reported by very senior level sources inside the administration that Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff will replace Attorney General Alberto Gonzales who resigned yesterday. The sources state that Chertoff will be replaced at Homeland Security by the Bush loyalist Clay Johnson III, who current postion is Deputy Director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget. Johnson, is inexpericed in the homeland security, as he has never previouly worked in the department, but is only a professional Bush loyalist. He will have no experience in the many responsibilities of the department, such as immigration, air travel security, and disaster response. He is one of Bush’s oldest friends, having attended both prep school and college with the President. Johnson served as Bush’s gubernatorial chief of staff in Texas before heading up the Bush-Cheney transition team. Bush told Johnson and his wife over lunch “I want someone whose primary interest is me
Frech President fuels fires of push for attack on Iran...
Things are NOT getting any better and I am not going to say it is anyone's fault besides Iranian President. He needs to back off or face serious world consequences. We would most likely have an actual team of countries against him rather than just spear-heading this ourselves. Who knows what going to happen... but as I have been saying I think there will be a preemptive attack by Israel to defend its livelihood which has been threatened several times by Iran. President Sarkozy called Iran’s nuclear ambition the world’s most dangerous problem yesterday and raised the possibility that the country could be bombed if it persisted in building an atomic weapon. The French leader used tough language towards Tehran in the first broad survey of his plans for extending Gallic influence in the world since the start of his hyperactive presidency in May. President Sarkozy also gave full backing to Bernard Kouchner, his Foreign Minister, who was forced to apologise yesterday for calling fo
President Bush To Commemorate Katrina Anniversary
Next week President Bush is set to return to the Gulf Coast, where hard times and affects Hurricane Katrina continue two years since the disaster happened. Hurricane Katrina was the most destructive natural disaster in U.S. history. It swamped the entire city of New Orleans, killed 1,800 people across the Gulf Coast, destroyed or severely damaged more than 200,000 homes and made more than 800,000 people homeless overnight. The Bush administration is still facing charges of an inadequate response, for the way it handled the crisis, and more recently, for not spending more time on it. The federal government has provided more than $114 billion in aid, $96 billion of which has been spent or is available for states to draw from. First lady Laura Bush will also be accompanying the president on the Gulf Coast visit. Written by Simon for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Politics, News
