I start with this article a new section of this blog. All months there will be an article about cinema, about interesting films, top ten...And I wanna begin with this genre. Science Fiction has a lot of detractors. Sci-fi is for intelligent people and with an open mind, with imagination and creative.I always have preferred the good books of the genre because our imagination goes much far away than a film. I went to watch the long-awaited Simpsons Movie last weekend and to be fair it was worth the wait. Packed with laughs and family fun the film has already been voted as one of the best films of all time. Although we didn’t get to see more of the film set in Springfield and many of the signature characters weren’t in the movie I don’t think it seems to matter. Films like this instantly have a built in fan boy audience to immediately vote the movie into the Internet Movie Database top 250 movies of all time list. Over time, however, as more people vote the movie generally falls further and further down the list. The Simpsons debuted at a respectable #33, but has since fallen to an 8.3 rating and ranked at #139th best movie of all time. That’s higher than classics such as Die Hard, Toy Story, The Princess Bride, The Graduate, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Trainspotting. Ever wonder what’s a good DVD to pop in that will turn your date on and generate chemistry? Well, look no further. Here is a list for 50 best date movies ever. My favorite from the list? It’s got to be Dirty Dancing and Casablanca! However, I’m not quite sure how some of them made into the list. Movies like “The Descent”, “The Science of Sleep” are IMO just too bloody or too weird to be considered good date movies. What do you think of the list? Do you think it missed anything? One movie I think that should definitely be on the list is “A Knight’s Tale”, with crazy tale mixing jousting and classic rock songs. Heath Ledger was just amazing. Another one is gotta be “Fatal Attraction”. Michael Doughlas and Glenn Close was really great! I like that scene when she sneaks in their house and she’s holding a butcher life cutting herself now isn’t that creepy!!

I may have been out of it, but for the longest time I never figured out how to get my own DVDs onto iTunes, then onto my video iPod. Well I have figured it out with the help of this nice guide. Ashley and I met her sister Greta this afternoon and went to Prime Outlets, ostensibly, to shop for a birthday present for their father. Not being much of a shopper, I don’t often go to the Outlets. I’d be a frequent visitor if I were more of a people watcher, since if there’s one thing the Outlets seem to have more than enough of, it’s people. It’s interesting to see which people go into which store. I never would have thought, for instance, that we’d find the same family of Mexican women in the Petite Sophisticates store (not a thing in there to fit me, by the way) that we’d seen earlier in the Black & Decker Outlet. Guess when you plug in that new toaster/egg cooker, you’ve gotta wear something.The other thing the Outlets have too much of is vending machines.
