Though Microsoft does fund education and research projects in many universities across the world, this Bangalore based university will be wholly owned by the software giant and it's first-ever independent educational venture in the world. TOI says that the Microsoft university may train around 1,000 students and it may well be India's first run by a multinational company. | | Microsoft Live TV 2007-07-06 20:29:00 Thats right, Microsoft, along with a London company called Skinkers (nice name) have developed a new on demand live Peer-to-peer TV service called LiveStation. It seems a lot like a Joost competitor, but claims to have only live TV, no pre-recorded shows or movies like a normal on demand service. This is what I like about LiveStation, and what I didn't like about Joost. I wanted as close to a real TV on my computer, which is what LiveStation seems to be promising. This program will be a great way to get live TV without the need to spend lots of money on a TV tuner. I think this will be great, as I don't have a TV where I compute, so I could check up on news, shows, movies etc.I believe you can sign up for the beta right now, I just signed up, hope I can get in :) Thank you for subscribing to my blog! | | Microsoft designs the ipod package 2007-06-28 23:12:00 | | Microsoft oPhone 2007-06-28 23:07:00 | | Microsoft Surface Computing 2007-06-23 23:30:00 | | Microsoft still playing dirty? 2007-06-22 09:05:34 For years one of the most popular images of Microsoft was one of a company that did everything in its power to control as much of the operating system and software market as it possibly could. Now whether this is true or not is debatable, what is not debatable is that monopolies in the technology industry are not a good thing.
Just to fill all of you who don’t know in; Google has accused Microsoft of making it difficult for users who are running Microsoft’s latest OS Vista to run a different desktop search engine. Google claim that although the user has a choice to run Vista's built in search engine or a competitor's desktop search (e.g. Google’s engine) Microsoft has designed Vista in such a way that if a user is not using Vista's built in search function the whole operating system slows down and it becomes frustrating to run a search of your computer's hard drive.

Users who received repaired consoles back have been reporting a revised heatsink with a heatpipe extension to help better cool the GPU. It is believed that improved cooling is an effort to address widespread reports of Xbox 360 hardware failures. Microsoft has always remained guarded on the topic of the reliability of its Xbox 360 console, including on possible revisions to address quality issues. According to The New York Times, Google filed complaints with federal and state prosecutors claiming that the indexing program built into Windows Vista operating system impedes the operation of Google Desktop. Users trying to run both Windows Vista indexing and Google Desktop are frustrated because the operation of both considerably slows the operating system, claims Google. Developers have had more time to develop software for Microsoft?s system, giving it the current edge in games available. While Microsoft may be pleased with itself on keeping Sony?s PlayStation 3 at bay, now the company must focus on stealing some of Nintendo?s thunder. The Wii?s innovative remote controller allows it to attract a whole new audience, such as women and the elderly, to play video games. In order to rule this console generation, Microsoft believes that it needs to start emulating some of Nintendo?s tactics. ?If we don't make that move, make it early and expand our demographic, we will wind up in the same place as with Xbox 1, a solid business with 25 million people,? said Peter Moore, | | Microsoft, LG Electronics Sign Patent Cross-License Pact 2007-06-07 13:13:00 Microsoft has signed another licensing deal -- totaling six in the past year Microsoft announced it has agreed to a cross-licensing deal with LG Electronics Inc.
