What is the True State of Search Marketing?
On Wednesday this week, MarketingSherpa hosted a presentation on Search Marketing Trends and Tactics (that's the link to the PDF; the audio is here). The same day, Bill Gadless at the B2B Web Strategy Blog wrote a post on The True State of B2B Search Engine Marketing. Combining information from the two paints an interesting picture of the current search marketing landscape.Bill notes the gap between high interest in search marketing and the low actual adoption. In his words, "everyone’s intrigued; but very few are yet investing much of their budget with the help of a professional SEO firm." He concludes by writing, "The lack of attention SEO and PPC are receiving from B2B marketers is troubling."Research from MarketingSherpa, on the other hand, demonstrates that the businesses who are investing these areas are seeing substantial ROI and increasing their spending. Overall, roughly 40% of web marketers plan double-digit increases in search marketing with Google next year; about a quar

Blog Marketing for Non-Bloggers
Rarely do I drop what I'm doing to read a newsletter article, but that's what happened when I came across Elge Premeau's Using Blogs to Attract Attention (Without Having Your Own) in the RainToday newsletter. Premeau accurately points out that while writing your own blog is hard work, promoting your company, product or service through blogs doesn't have to be: "60% of bloggers have not updated their blogs in the last 60 days...So, why not tap into the audiences other blogs attract (presumably the blogs that are updated more frequently) and participate in the blogosphere without doing the hard work of creating and marketing a blog?"Premeau recommends commenting on popular (and relevant to your business, obviously) blogs as a way of getting exposure and demonstrating your own thought leadership in your field without making the commitment to your own blog. She helpfully provides advice on how to find relevant blogs to comment on, track them, and write appropriate, productive comments.

Behavioral Marketing/Targeting And Search Engines!
"Behavioral Targeting is a technique used by online publishers and advertisers to increase the effectiveness of their campaigns. The idea is to observe a user’s online behavior anonymously and then serve the most relevant advertisement based on their behavior. Theoretically, this helps advertisers deliver their online advertisement to the users who are most likely to be influenced by them." In Behavioral marketing, adverts are shown to consumer based on their behavior on Internet, rather than by the content of pages they visit. For example if a person decide to buy a car he start visiting different sites that are dealing in car sales. Many pages are there on a site which have very generic info about cars for instance take example of a pages having info about car history or history of companies manufacturing car. If ads are shown on this page based on the content of that page they are useless to that person. Rather than ads of car prices or car selling websites get more attention by t

Boost Search Engine Marketing With FishyBot
Advances in web technologies and their growing usage have made search engine marketing so much easier than what it was only a decade ago. It has reduced the time span of marketing practices and processes, which would otherwise have taken very long time to be implemented on ground. It is frustrating for marketers who offer products and services on the Internet and annoying for customers who are looking for the same and cannot find. This situation has given birth to web directories. They organise website listings and help in Search Engine Marketing. Have a look at Fishybot is - a human maintained and edited, SEO friendly web directory that lists quality and family-friendly sites – and find out how they save time and frustration of the consumers. Home Stage & Blogging… Reflecting Opportunities in Real Estate Marketing
For a little over a year now I have been writing about home staging here in this blog. I have to admit I have been fortunate in raising my staging voice up in an ever expanding world of real estate blogging. I believe part of the reason for my blogging success is due to the fact that the approach I take to blogging reflects the approach I take to staging. When it comes to staging and selling a home it is no secret that good curb appeal is desirable. If a buyer doesn’t like what they see, there is a good chance they will just move on. Well the same goes for a blog. I consider a blog’s headline its initial curb appeal. Headlines should be interesting and captivating so that your reader wants to stop in and read on. When touring a home, which is for sale, a second critical moment takes place the instant the buyer opens the door and sees the interior of a home for the first time. What a buyer sees in this moment better be a visually appealing. For just as it is important t
Affiliate marketing 101
As many of you know, I’ve become a regular reader of the Affiliate Marketing Blog. It’s got some great insights into affiliate marketing. In a recent post, Shawn Collins discusses via video how a merchant can calculate the ROI on an affiliate marketing campaign. You can check out the rest of his post here but the gist of it is quite simple. A merchant’s ROI is calculated by taking revenues generated from the program and subtracting from it these three costs: 1) Cost of personnel managing the affiliate marketing program 2) Cost of commission to the affiliate marketer (the one driving the sales to the merchants) 3) Cost of affiliate marketing network or software While it might seem straight-forward, I think it’s a great idea to provide this clarity to merchants. Affiliate marketing isn’t a widely understood discipline, especially by traditional marketers. So everything Shawn and his affiliate marketing followers can do to shed some light on this very effect

Network Marketing 2
Back to network marketing again. What is network marketing ? Well, if you ask a networker he will tell you it´s the greatest thing on earth. And if you ask an ex-networker he will tell you never get involved in network marketing. But what is network marketing ?OK. Network marketing is just a way to move products or services to customers. There are two main things that networker do. 1. They show people some of there products or services and 2. They teach other people to do the same. That does not sound like a lot of work ! Wrong again ! It´s a lot of hard work.
