The statistics from the National Statistical Coordination Board shows that Koreans are the no.1 tourist in the list who visited the Philippines last year with a recorded tourist arrival of 572,133. The number of Korean tourists in 2006 is equivalent to 20.1% of the total tourist arrival of 2,843,345. It increased by 16.9% from 2005 to 2006. The Americans, previously the largest foreign tourist in the country, now ranked no.2 with 567,355 tourists. It is equivalent to 20% of the total tourist arrivals. It is followed by Japan (421,808), China (133,585) and Taiwan (114,955).

Bad news from My Way News: The bullet-riddled body of a South Korean hostage was found by police Wednesday in central Afghanistan after a purported Taliban spokesman said the militants had killed one of the captives. The male victim had 10 bullet holes in his head, chest and stomach, and was discovered in the Mushaki area of Qarabagh district in Ghazni province, said police officer Abdul Rahman. The Taliban spokesman said earlier that the hostage was was killed because Afghan authorities hadn’t met their demands to release other militants from prison. THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE.
