| Interesting Intel Phone 2007-09-20 18:00:00 I thought this was kind of cool. Intel announced a new cell phone at thier Intel Developers Conference. It is what I have heard as the future of the iPhone. It has a pretty big touchscreen, but it is very narrow and long. Very unique design, and I bet it's pretty good for using it to make calls, as the shape is that of a home phone. Looks like a cool interface. The virtual keyboard is cool, it is split so that half is on one side of the device, and half is on the other, and what you're typing is in the middle. From what I read it has the normal features a high-end phone would. Internet browser, MP3 player, GPS, etc. The one problem I have with this device is the name. As of now, they are calling it the "Moorestown"... What kind of a name is that?Thank you for subscribing to my blog! | | Intel´s 32nm Chip!! 2007-09-20 10:23:00 Intel demonstrates a 32nm chip and Next-Generation Nehalem Microprocessor Architecture. Will Intel’s new 1333mhz FSB Core 2 Duo Processor Range Make Us Upgrade? 2007-08-27 06:28:16
Intel’s release of a 1333mhz FSB Core 2 Duo will mean that anyone who wants to realize the full potential of these processors, will have to buy a Motherboard with a P35 chipset, costing at least $100 from newegg. Unless you go for the low end of the market and buy a $50 motherboard that just fits the requirements, its going to be at least a $280 upgrade if you get the cheapest E6550. Or is this just the first step towards the migration into the higher FSB range of processors. Seeing as the only Intel processor with 1333mhz FSB has the QX6850 processor, which didn’t allow for the lower markets, the cost was $1200. Will we see whether the release these 1333mhz FSB processors will lead the way to higher FSB speeds for processors to come with the new penryn processors?
What do You think about the new range of 1333mhz FSB processors?
Will they catch on?

| | Intel’s QX6850 Processor, The Best Processor In the World 2007-08-24 07:59:38
The 3.0ghz quad core processor, 1333mhz FSB, 8mb cache. Is that worth $1200? Then there is the extra cost, you have to have a motherboard designed to support this chip, you have to have either an Intel G33, P35, or X38 chipset motherboard, or a BIOS-updated nforce 600-series board from nvidia. Any of these will cost at least $100 from newegg. And with Intel’s penryn processor being released next year, will this processor actually sell? Well if it hasn’t sold it has certainly cornered the quad core market, and made itself the worlds greatest processor.
Do you think that the Core 2 Extreme QX6850 processor is worth it?

| | Intel introduces 3.0ghz Xeon Processor, and Drops The Pentium. 2007-08-23 07:33:01
Intel has officially released a new Xeon server processor to combat AMD’s Barcelona Opteron processor range, due to be released next month. Intel has also release a low voltage version of the chip which is clocked at 2.0ghz, consuming only 50 watts compared to the 3.0ghz version that eats 120 watts.
And as the release of Intel’s Penryn processor is less than a year away, the company has announced the phasing out of all pentium processors. This will mean that no more single core processors will be in production from intel, meaning that in three years time, a celerons and pentuims will be rare.
Then which will win out, the future Penryn processor, or the AMD’s Phenom and Barcelona Operton?
What do you think?

That is, I have had a program freeze on me, but I was able to force quit the application (even the finder) and restart my machine. With My Intel iMac (24 inch 2.16 Intel Core 2 Duo), I have had a dozen complete system freezes over the last 8 months.Fifty percent of the time, it did damage to my hard drive directory. Twice, after restart, it caused a sibling link error. Diskwarrior was able to repair it once, the second time, I had to do an archive and install.I went so far as to erase and zero out the drive (assuming that it may remove a potential bad sector) and reinstall all of the software. I still managed to get a system wide freeze the other day. I had to hold the power button until the machine shutdown, and then I restarted. I ran fsck to check the disk, and surprisingly, I had no damage this time.I have checked the RAM, I doubt it's the processor. It isn't the hard drive either. Intel really are the ‘daddy’ of the chip world and when they announce something like this, expect it to be big. “Penryn” is the successor to the Merom core, used in all the Core 2 Duo chips that has revolutionised our notebook world.
“Penryn” will apparently be based on 45nm fabrication process entirely, a real change to the previous Merom core. These “Penryn” based Core 2 Duo processors will shed a new light on the spanking “Santa Rosa” platforms expected in Q1 2008.

You may have read a recent post informing you of Intel’s new racist sprinter advert which was made by someone who was quite simply, stupid or really, really stupid.
Who in their right mind would make an ad with six black sprinter men bowing down to a white geek in tight pants? The advertising department need to get their act together, that’s for sure.
Thanks to all the negative publicity the sprinter ad has been creating for Intel, they have finally issued a statement of apology:
Intel’s intent of our ad titled “Multiply Computing Performance and Maximize the Power of Your Employees” was to convey the performance capabilities of our processors through the visual metaphor of a sprinter. We have used the visual of sprinters in the past successfully.
Unfortunately, our execution did not deliver our intended message and in fact proved to be insensitive and insulting. Upon recognizing this, we attempted to pull the ad from all publications but, unfortunately, | | Is Intel’s New Advert Racist? Or Just Lousy Marketing? 2007-07-30 15:22:01
Seriously Intel, do you guys really like getting complaints and negative light in the media? It’s as if you’re loving all this bad publicity. Their latest attempt to shine like a rock is with their new advert, which in my opinion, screams the slave trade. Don’t get me wrong, I hope I’m sure they didn’t mean to make it look so blatent or bad, but with six athletic black males kneeling down before a white geek in tight pants, what are we meant to think?
On a positive note, it does make me want to get Intel’s Core 2 Duo, which is what it’s there for. Spring up the comments guys- what do you think? Subliminal racism or just silly mistakes? Let us know how you feel.

Bruselas ti | | Intel Claim 40GBps Chips Are Close: Is This a Breakthrough? 2007-07-27 05:12:37
Are these incredibly fast chips out of our reach? Or have Intel actually made a huge breakthrough and created these unbeleivably high-speed chips?
Instead of using electrons, the new, almost-made chips are to use light, which is much faster and efficient as optical interconnects also eliminate the heat created by resistance, which saves energy in the apsect of heat. This may be fine and dandy, but I am beginning to worry about the pricing which I predict will be outrageous.
Intel’s silicon-photonics technology will take a while to become commercial apparently, with another seven years to wait. I’m thinking in seven years time, they would have made 80GBps chips let alone 40GBps.
What do you think the future holds in terms of chips? Will Intel manage to make them in time before the likes of AMD and Hynix getting in the way?
