HEALTH-“Health”
Health’s new album starts of slow. 30 seconds of near silence slowly builds into tribal drum and solemn organ. Eventually, the guitars start to hit and the cymbals crash and the entire first song, “Heaven,” crescendos into silence, followed, after a few beats, by a loan chime of the organ. So, is this a gentle instrumental record? No. In fact, it fits in more with the noisy, up-and-downs of Husker Du, Parts & Labor, Black Dice . . . It’s not the kind of sound you immediately fall in love with. At least I didn’t. But there’s an energy here, a vibe of excitement and anything-can-happen randomness in tunes like Girl Attorney and Triceratops, that rewards hard listening. If you’re looking for something accessible, this isn’t for you. But if you’re a fan of the offbeat and inventive, this may just be the ticket! Crimewave-Health Triceratops (CFCF remix)-Health
Hawaii Could Be Health Insurance Model For The Entire USA
A survey by the Census Bureau has shown that the proportion of resident in Hawaii that are living without health insurance is declining. The latest health insurance statistics show that the percentage of Hawaii residents without health insurance has dropped from the third year in a row. This is going against the health insurance trend in the rest of the USA, where the number or people without health insurance is actually rising. This is a great change for the health insurance industry in Hawaii though, as the number of people without health insurance had been rising for 20 years. Do you think the rest of the USA can follow Hawaii in decreasing numbers of people without health insurance? Source Written by Roy for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Health Insurance, Insurance
Census Shows poverty rate decline and people without health insurance rises
Although the Census Bureau may have announced that the poverty rate in the USA has dropped to 12.3 per cent, the number of people without health insurance is on the rise. Surely something is not right? The number of Americans without health insurance has risen 2.2 million to a massive total of 47 million. I would have thought that is the poverty rate was going down, so would the number of people without health insurance, but this has not been the case. What do you think? Is there something wrong with the figures for poverty and health insurance? Source Written by Roy for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Health Insurance, Insurance

Insurance News: LifeWise Health Plan of Arizona has green light to resume selling
Some breaking insurance news is that LifeWise Health Plan of Arizona has just got the green light to resume selling insurance in Arizona; they were given a no-sell order last week by the Washington state insurance regulators. On Friday the Washington state insurance commissioner and LifeWise both announced that the LifeWise Health Plan insurance is now available to Arizona again. The reason behind the problems was that LifeWise was accused by the Washington regulators that they were selling health-insurance policies at below-market rates in Arizona. This was at the expense of its policyholders in Washington and made a few people unhappy. Washington regulators had apparently concluded that LifeWise has a “reasoned plan” to grow its Arizona business. Written by Daniel for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Health Insurance, Insurance
Turn your Windows Smartphone into a health monitor
You know, there are bio-hacks that come along once in a while that are really worth mentioning. In true geek-it fashion, an aspiring ‘entrepreneur’ (among other things) has developed a portable, miniature health monitor that uses a pretty advanced assembly of chips — from accelerometers to Bluetooth to flash storage — in order to display health information from an electrode wearer in real time. How does it do this? Why, it sends the information gleaned from the electrode-wearing subject directly to a Bluetooth-enabled Windows Smartphone (running a small application), which provides a real-time ECG readout in addition to other health telemetry data. No need for a hospital visit with this contraption, which if put into a single unit would be no bigger than a small cellphone. It’s powered by a small Lithium-Ion battery with attached voltage regulator. This is obviously a prototype, but it’s a pretty finished product all things considered except packag
The King of Scalp Health
For the four of you who read my blog when I originally posted this, my apologies.  I am quite busy and am using the time-honored blogger sleight of hand known as “putting up a post from when no one read your blog” to save some time and creative mojo.  Yes, I’ve been called a lot of things, probably by some of the people who read things I post here.  I’ve even been called some good things from time to time.  But one thing no one has ever called me is “Dandruff-laden.”  No, sir.  I have never had one flake of dandruff in my life.  I have had a veritable host of other embarassing personal issues, which, in case you are currently eating your lunch, I will not go into here.  But not dandruff.  No indeed.  I can wear dark blue, midnight blue, black and deep grey shirts, jackets, vests, overcoats and saris any time I so choose, because I am unflakeable.  There are a lot of dandruff shampoos, conditioners, patches, pills and injections out there
In 2005 a million people lack health insurance in New York
It has been reported that around a million adults in New York City lacked health insurance in 2005 even though most were employed. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene report also found that one in five of New York’s 8 million residents, including 600,000 with health insurance, lacked a regular doctor in 2005, the last year for which statistics were available. The Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas R. Frieden said “If you don’t have a regular doctor, chances are you’re not getting the care you need.†It has been said that Health officials are not sure why so many employed people were uninsured, but they noted that the cost of health care is high and continues to rise and that not every employer provides insurance. Adults 65 and older who had regular providers and insurance were more likely to get flu shots and be immunized against pneumonia than those who didn’t. What I do not understand is that surely it is better to have health insurance then not

President Bush should Veto State Children’s Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP)
The House and Senate voted last week over the Bush administrations objections to go ahead and expand the S-CHIP (State Children’s Health Insurance Program), the congress did initially create the program to cover children whose parents were doing rather well to qualify for the Medicaid but not that well to buy their very own insurance. Now they are looking to extend the coverage to these families earning up to 300% of the federal poverty level which is basically just over $60,000 for a family of 4, and with this children up to 25 years old, this is what the expansion Congress is seeking now. A welfare benefit for middle class households is what the Bush administration is calling it and is correct to call it this, and if the final bill comes from the conference which looks anything like the current versions don’t you think President Bush should come good and promise to Vito it. Secrets To Good Health
Laughter and optimism have positive effects on our health. Is Your Printer Putting Your Health At Risk?
News that is potentially very alarming is that Queensland University of Technology researchers down under in Australia have recently discovered that nearly one third of office printers spew “potentially dangerous,” particles that in turn harm our health. More specifically, the”ULTRA-TINY PARTICLES are of toner-like material, so small that they can infiltrate the lungs and cause a range of health problems from respiratory irritation to more chronic illnesses.” Personally, I’m willing to take that 33.33% risk that my printer is killing me. It can fax, too. Written by Ryan for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Computers, Printers
