| | Alt Attribute Usage: Let’s Hear It From Google 2008-01-07 23:01:46 Images used in websites have a serious keyword value when they are used right.
There are 3 variables, which we think of, can show search engines what the image is about? These are title, alt, and the image name. Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s webspam team describing us which ones are important in this video:
What is alt attribute?
The alt attribute is used in HTML and XHTML documents to specify text that is to be rendered when the element to which it is applied cannot be rendered. In HTML 4.01, the attribute is required for the img and area element types. It is optional for the input element type and the deprecated applet element type.

Google Adsense 2008-01-04 22:34:00 Bloggers love affiliate programs, it runs in our blood, so every time a new one pops up there we go in the hope of coining a few more dollars. Adsense has for many years been the preferred, sometimes the only, affiliate program but with the introduction of WidgetBucks, things might begin to change. But before we trot along, one crucial question should be asked, which of the two provide the best results? Today I’ve decided to put them both to the test by analyzing their strengths and weaknesses in a hope of determining which of the two affiliate programs delivers the most dollars to its publishers. On one corner we have the experienced, all time champion, no stranger to online advertising, Adsense, the Google affiliate program. On the other corner, the young spirit, only a few months old, ready to take the blogosphere by storm, WidgetBucks, the interactive affiliate network. Let’s throw them in the ring together and see which comes out on top.WidgetBucks WidgetBucks just like Adsense | | More Fun(?) With Google Earth 2008-01-04 20:34:00 Okay, I have a bit of a strange situation on my hands here, and I decided to postpone my original post idea until tomorrow. Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me. Now I have been making some comedic posts involving our friends at the Google company. None of them really at their expense mind you, but posts where their tools have been utilized in the name of chaos and mischief. I don't THINK they could be involved but...I just don't know. I called up my house on Google earth the other night and when I zoomed in, I saw this weird streak of light going right over my roof.If you have this program (and you should), you can zoom in on the thing at 9°56'59.40"N Latitude and 84° 7'52.83"W Longitude. If you don't have it, you can see the pictures I have attached here. It almost looks like some kind of electro-light tadpole thingie. | | Google's 'Inadvertent' Mistake! 2008-01-04 06:36:59 Earlier this week Australian and New Zealand publishers who use the Google AdSense service were in for a bit of a shock when they received their payments for amounts owing to them for November's advertising. They would have been unpleasantly surprised to find that the amount they received was not as much as they had been expecting.
Their initial frustrations then changed to relief as they found out that they were right to have been expecting a slightly greater amount deposited in their bank account. AdSense had made a rather absurd blunder.
It has been revealed that AdSense managed to invert the currency between the Australian and New Zealand Dollar with that of the United States Dollar. This therefore resulted in the US Dollar being weaker than the aforementioned currencies, with the publishers receiving less than they should have.
| | Google announces iPhone Compatibility with Picasa Photo Service 2007-12-29 22:48:00 Seems there are lots of announcements from Google these days. After Google Calendar’s compatibility with BlackBerry phones, Google has now announced support of Picasa photo service for iPhone. What does this new compatibility mean? The new features will include capability to search for photos in albums or through community photos. Google mentioned that the new feature will also allow viewing friends’ albums through favorites. The iPhone and iPod Touch users can download the Picasa Photo features from Picasa website. On the other hand, users can also log on to Google.com and launch the application from the “More” tab. As per Google, the only disadvantage could be that the new Picasa photo service for iPhone is now available only in English. Hence iPhone users who do not know English would not be able to use the new feature. Looks as if, Google is making its services more and more user-friendly. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME
