Google Trying Out a New Homepage Design: Taiwan, Hong Kong
The people behind the most popular search engine on the net, Google, are testing out a new look for their website. “We think [the new design] will be more appropriate for the local cultures, and their context, and their broadband connections, which, for example in Korea, are extraordinarily fast,” Brin said, adding that the response to the new site designs had been “quite positive.” The new ‘look’ is directly related to the high speed broadband they have out there. Take a look at the changed layout here , be sure to comment and tell us what you think. If you ask me, it just looks like they’ve added a few minor images to their links and moved a couple of things out the way. Nevertheless, they usually know what they’re doing. Whether the ‘improved’ design will reach our apparent ’slower connections’ here is another issue, let’s hope so. Source Written by Ryan for Product ReviewsIn Sections: Computers, Broadban
4 Great Reasons to use Google Analytics
Having used a large number of web site visitor trackers over the years, I first approached Google Analytics some time ago, with the somewhat jaded attitude of someone who's 'seen it all' or at least 'seen most of it'. What could possibly make this particular utility stand out in such a large crowd of competitors? But first... What is Google Analytics?Analytics is Google's very own visitor tracking utility, allowing webmasters to keep tabs on traffic to their site, including visitor numbers, traffic sources, visitor behaviour & trends, times spent on the site and a host of other information gathered via two pieces of JavaScript embedded in the source-code.Unlike other free visitor trackers, which insist on displaying annoying and often amateurish badges or buttons when they are being used, Google Analytics simply runs quietly in the background, gathering the necessary information without any visible signs of its presence.Which brings me quite neatly to Analytics' first major plus-

¿Acaso no guardan esos datos? ¿Que p
Google Dangles $4.6 Billion Bid For FCC Wireless Platform
Google (GOOG) said that it would bid a minimum of $4.6 billion for the federal government's upcoming wireless spectrum auction-if the Federal Communications Commission creates an open wireless platform. Microsoft, Ask.com pressure Google on privacy (computer world)

"We're really trying to make sure that people always have the ability to have a trusted experience."These steps are similar to those taken by Ask.com last week and are part of an effort to create industry consensus on privacy practices, Cullen said. When visitors use Microsoft's Windows Live search engine, Microsoft stores the sea

“Google Gobbles Again”
Another feather added to the quiver, Google announced late Friday the acquisition of yet another tech. company.  Adding ImageAmerica to it’s arsenal appears to be a very strong signal that Google will continue to focus efforts on their Maps and Earth offerings.  This relationship was not new or fleeting however, as Google had used images from IA as far back as 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. Although it’s easy to point to a powerhouse company such as Google and say “yeah, do it that way,” it may nevertheless be relevant to take a snapshot of some of the company behavior as it relates to business.   Can the little guy learn anything from a corporate giant?  Sure. Google’s business sense is probably unrivaled in today’s landscape, and although there are a plethora of reasons surrounding success, one that jumps out at me and has for sometime is what I term the “inclusive” factor.  Specifically, Google seems to have something for every

Google Discontinues Click-to-Call and Related Links
Two small but useful Google services are no longer available. Click-to-call, the Google Maps feature that allowed you to call a business for free in the US, was removed. "This feature was a long-running experiment, and in the end it was decided to discontinue it. There are however lots of other features we're adding to maps in the hope of making it even more useful," says a Googler who recommends trying GOOG-411, an automated voice-based mobile search engine. You can also try Microsoft's local search engine, which continues to include a click-to-call feature.Haochi Chen was reminded of that strange day from October 2006 when Google's Official Blog was hacked and somebody posted that "Google has decided not to continue with Google Click-to-call project". Apparently, he was right.Another discontinued service is Related Links, that showed links to news, videos and searches related to the content of a page in a small box which looked similar to an AdSense unit.MORE...
Yahoo takes less Time than google to Load
Hey! This is serious. Google Takes more time to load than Yahoo. Now this Doesn't matter much, but for those who hate google (I am not one of those),this makes them laugh about google. What does the home page of google contain, only a colorful logo and a form and why it takes time to load. Compared to Yahoo which contains relatively more images, Google should load faster but it is the other way round. If you don't believe me check for yourself.I know it is not clearly visible, try testing for your self at http://www.iwebtool.com/speed_test.In my test average speed of google was 0.17 secs and that of Yahoo was 0.07 secs. You can also use this website to check your own website's speed and load time and help your readers by tweaking your website's layout and source code to speed up the page download.Find the entire article here.
