I met Wayne, I think this is the first time I chat with him in Yahoo Chat. he told me Google PR updated already and he got PR 4 for Wayne Liew Dot Com. What a big day for him. So, I also check mine to see what Loon Design have. Hurray! Loon Design got PR 3, not bad even it is lesser than the prediction I did before. Well, I have to thank to all my loyalty readers who support me all the while. Without you guys, Loon Design can’t walk far. Nearly in the future, I will do something for my readers as a return. Have you been getting spam comments from a site talkf(dot)com? Do you get tons of spam from them? Well if you do you are not the only one, there may be tons of sites that get spam comments from them, I have got 300 spam comments in last two days from them and thanks to Akismet I am safe enough but then, few of them do escape the Akismet web too and land up in your normal comments. The surprise of all is that Google Search is archiving 50,800 links related to talkf(dot)com, just do a search for talkf(dot)com (replace (dot) with "." without the quotes and you will see it) or else follow this Google Search link and you will see. Can they explain the spam links? Can they explain paying sploggers for robbing our content? Now I see a spammer has 50800 search results and the spammer is not even a month old yet in spamming (here is the email id for the site khan_fly@yahoo.com please spam him, more from whois), is this justified? In a somewhat surly mood of late, Google has taken out the corporate whipping stick one more time to slap knots on the domes of those utilizing paid linking strategies. MarketingVox and others are reporting that Google continues to mess, manipulate, and otherwise confound SEO experts the worldwide with it’s seemingly arbitrary moves regarding page rank issues in particular, but overall search relevancy in general, as well. I said sometime ago, that the Nielson moves would likely see the page rank go the way of the dinosaur, but when Google actually starts tinkering with those mechanisms I think it’s fair to suggest we aint in Kansas any more Toto. After much anticipation and rumor, Microsoft has agreed to invest $240 million into Facebook for a 1.6 percent stake in the company. This values the social networking site at $15 billion, $5 billion higher than previous estimates. The sealed deal leaves Yahoo and Google, who’ve also been courting Facebook for the past two months, in the dust, reports the New York Times. Facebook continues to flaunt some lofty numbers claiming a realistic goal of some 60 million by 2008. This was a rare, yet coveted victory for Microsoft in their epic battles with the other search engine top dogs.

The Internet is a buzz today with Google PageRank downgrades. speculation on the reasons for the downgrade range from an attack on blog link farms, the end of PageRank, removing AdSense ads, it’s all John Chow’s fault, etc. You can see a list of new PageRank for well known blogs at DailyBlogTips. The most popular reason given for the first batch of PR downgrade (I went from 6 to 5) was that those sites that got hit were selling links. However, that reasoning doesn’t seem to hold anymore because Problogger.net (from 6 to 4) and bunch of other blogs doesn’t sell links. I would say the most likely reason for this change is Google is messing around with link resellers like Text Link Ads. By downgrading a large chunk of the blogs on the Internet, Google has made that that much harder for the link resellers to sell links. My feeling on this is to not even worry about it too much.
