What do Google Employees see?

Google now free GPS (sorta)
Very cool! Just press zero! Users of Blackberries and many other smartphones can now push a button and the Google mapping service will figure out more or less sort of where they are. Last month, I wrote a post called “One Reason We Need a Google Phone: Free GPS.” I was complaining that cellphone carriers, mainly Verizon, are disabling the GPS navigation systems built into phones so they can
Today's Clueless Censorious Twats: YouTube (aka Google aka GOD)
I'm really starting to hate these guys. Reuters Africa reports that YouTube has suspended the account of human rights activist Wael Abbas because he posted videos depicting police brutality in Egypt. Uploading videos featuring graphic violence, unless it's police tasering civilians, I guess, is against YouTube's terms of service. Mashable's Stan Schroeder nails the implications and contradictions as well as the conflict between knuckle-headed business types focused on their navels and people...
Google Grabbing Renewable Energy Craze
I think some of the discussion regarding Google’s decision to jump into the renewable energy mix is a bit unfair. Analysts worry that this is just another example of Google stretching itself too thin and losing it’s focus. I guess I would have to argue what evidence is there to suggest Google can’t do whatever the heck it wants? They’ve been interested in this topic easily since 2004 so this isn’t just a passing fad or desire to get into a popular niche. There are some core principles and fundamental driving forces behind the move and clearly, when moving forward in just about anything this company tackles, success follows in waves. Does Google Control The Web Now?
It's kinda sad what I found today... A friends high-traffic blog has been bitch-slapped by Google AGAIN to nothingness! It's kinda sad because it had to happen to the person who opened my eyes to all of this. I mean blogging, blog design and some SEO. It's from him that I learned about PR and how important it is... well it was it webmasters. His blog was hit by Google demoting it's rank from PR4 to PR3 last October. Today I find his blog having PR0. It might be a glitch but I think Google is is up for more bitch-slapping primarily for those who participate in Text-link ads selling and PayPerPost (the company). Good thing I never did those in any of my blogs. Not only that, I also saw a very big dip in my friend's traffic and Alexa ranking. Could it be an aftershock effect of Google's actions? Most probably not but one can't help but think it's inter-related because of the chronology of the events. Or it might be because his niche is starting to lose it's fan base.It seems that
AT&T in talks with Google over the Open Handset Alliance?
According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple-BFF and mobile-telecom-extroidinaire AT&T is in talks with Google about joining the Open Handset Alliance. In an interview today, Ralph de la Vega -- chief executive officer of the company's wireless unit -- said that the provider is, "Analyzing the situation," concerning the use of Google's Android operating system for some of its handsets. Although Mr. de la Vega hasn't personally met with the search-engine giant, the fact that AT&T is even considering joining the Alliance could have a palpable impact on the industry's perception of the forthcoming mobile OS contender. As you'll recall, T-Mobile and Sprint have already jumped on the OHA bandwagon (though to what extent no one knows), and adding the de facto US leader to the mix might really get this stew boiling over.Via Information Week

www.google.your.back.yard
Recently, there's been quite a bit of discussion around Google’s localised search extension on Google Web Master Tools (WMT). The addition allows web masters to specify if any section on their site (top level domain, sub-domain, or directory) targets a specific geo location. The location can range from country right down to suburb level. Sound complicated? Well, Google has spent a lot of money incorporating this into their algorithm. By making use of the your (the searchers) IP address, they can accurately pin point your location down to your suburb. Hence being able to supply you relevant results for services in your community. To briefly explain: If you had a small locksmith service in Clapham – London, then you would only need to optimise your website for the phrase Locksmith after which you would log into Google WMT. You would then, on the dashboard, go to “Tools” and click "onset geographic target”, then select the option “Associate a

The introduction of video sharing websites in 2005 made it possible for the netizens to share and exchange videos online. 100$ For Nothing - Thanks To Google Paid Link Campaign!
I am expecting this to come sooner or later and it seems that the time has come. A great article or story or whateva you wanna call it(hey what about CASE STUDY ) by FANTOMASTER in which he tell about how a blogger got 100$ for nothing..yes literally for nothing. So the story is.... sometime ago a blogger named as Khamnam Robinsun posted a paid review about Shopzilla at his blog telling all the readers how much cool is this website is..of course for a little sum of money. Then on a sunny bright day Google decalre war against Paid Links and Reviews and against anything that have Paid label with it. Many blogs and websites got hurt in this war and this makes other to think about their paid campaigns. So after thinking (yeah sure they did) over this issue Shopzilla tries to bribe KHAMNAM for removing their paid review and since Khamnam is certainly not a gentle man, he accepts it. So folks he got 100 $ for removing a link from his blog for real. And not only Khamnam, another female SEO/Blo
Yahoo Consortium Keeps Growing; USA Today Cuts Staff; Will Google Enter The ATS Business?
Another flurry of news in the daily newspaper, media, advertising, and talent management spaces: 1) Yahoo added 17 more daily newspapers into its employment classifieds consortium (here) 2) USA Today cut 45 newsroom jobs, despite the fact that it remains one of he few dailies in the country with a growing circulation (here) 3) While on a call today with a technology company in the recruitment advertising/talent management space, this company mentioned that they heard a leak from a decent source that Google was going to be entering the applicant tracking system business at some point in the near future. While rumors surrounding Google’s strategic intentions are as ubiquitous (and worthless) as Paris Hilton gossip, I thought this was somewhat interesting.
