When you install a game there is usually a shortcut to the game added to your desktop. With games from Oberon this shortcut actually points to a file called Launch.exe. This is where the timer is located. What this crack method does is swap the shortcut to Launch.exe with a a new shortcut that points directly to the game's .exe file (exe in the file extension means executable).
