Shilpa has completed her shoot for her Yoga dvd under her production house 'S2 Global Production'. The shooting took place in Kerala, India and it's a two hour dvd which will be available at the end of the year in UK and Dubai first and later in USA, India, Australia and Germany. I just brought a Sony PS3 for the Blu-ray to get great high definition pictures while watching movies, but as I also own the Xbox 360 its great news that Microsoft are going to cut the price of the external HD-DVD drive from around £122 (€180) by £13 (€20). The high-definition player add-on to the Xbox 360 needs to make more sales and this price cut could help, what do you think? The Consumer Electronics trade fair in Germany is where the announcement was made, but currently I have not heard what the price cut will be in the UK (it retails there for £129). Microsoft has announced that their HD DVD add-on for the Xbox 360 is to get a price cut in Europe, at the moment the price is €200 and will now drop to €180. However it still seems that those in Europe are still getting a bad deal because if you do the conversion they are paying $244 for the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on, whereas in the U.S it will only cost $179. This price cut I fear will not help increase HD DVD formatted discs sales, as the gap between them and Blu-ray seems to be getting larger and this is mainly due to the Blu-ray being incorporated into Sony PS3. Toshiba nos ha sacado de dudas en la feria IFA, donde sabíamos que tenía stand pero estabamos sorprendidos de que se hablara tan poco del formato HD DVD. Concretamente tendremos dos modelos, el HD-EP30 (350-400 euros) y el HD-EP35 (450-500 euros). Nótese la diferencia de precios con los reproductores Blu Ray de la misma generación que sobrepasan fácilmente los 1.000 euros. De las características técnicas debemos decir que ambos soportan la resolución 1080p y el vídeo a 24 fps. Además, el reproductor HD-EP35 aguanta sonido 7.1. Como novedad técnica vamos a hablar de la que Toshiba ha denominado REGZA-Link (HDMI-CEC), que nos permite controlar otros dispositivos electrónicos con un solo mando si están conectados vía HDMI.
