Ricoh 500SE: barcode scanning digital camera
Now here's the first time that I've come across a barcode scanning digital camera, the Ricoh 500SE. Now while the Ricoh 500SE is not for us average consumers (come one, what would we EVER need a barcode scanner for?), it could be especially useful for retailers. The Ricoh 500SE can support 1D barcodes and can scan these barcodes through its lens or the optional SE-4 laser scanning module. Aside

Nikon D3 Digital Camera Reviewed
Every one waited for Nikon to move up to the next level of digital sensor size, the "full-sized" FX or 35mm-like solution. Years went by and seemingly nothing happened. We admired Nikon's clever ergonomic solutions and at least some of us ogled the high-ISO performance of the competition with a little envy. Then, Nikon struck back with a camera advertised to "defy the limitations" no less. The D3 is not only a 35mm-frame camera, it is so much more and with high-ISO performance unheard and undreamt of as well. With a blazing firing rate up to 9 fps(FX)/11 fps(DX), this is a sports and action shooter's dream camera come true. But what can it achieve for other fields of photography? In this review, I shall try to elaborate these aspects of this new Nikon DSLR. Consider this more akin to a personal travelogue written as I made myself familiar with the D3 rather than a compilation of features. The D3 is the first FX format digital camera from Nikon, and as such being eagerly awaited by dieh

Konica Minolta Dynax 7D Digital Camera Review
Konica Minolta has finally entered the arena for high end DSLR's with the new Dynax 7D digital camera - producing some outstanding results. In many reviews on the web, you will find that each review has been conducted using a zoom lens which is good, but by no means as good a fixed focal length pro lens. This review was conducted using 3 professional fixed focal length lenses - 20mm, 50mm and 100mm AF lenses, to see what the camera is really capable of.On first impressions, the body looks and feels great. It's built with a strong metal frame and has a combination of hard black plastic for a shell and rubber on the grip. It is well sized, a good working weight for balance and feels ergonomically good in the photographer's hands. There is a big LCD (2.5 inches) for quick reviewing which for a pro body should be standard by all manufactures design briefs, and a brightly lit viewfinder. It's worth noting that the Dynax 7D is one of only a few DSLR's on the market with a 2.5 inch LCD.T

Digital Camera Buyers' Guide - Year of the SLR
Many predicted that 2007 would be the year of the digital SLR, and industry shipments confirm the huge growth in DSLR sales. In a time where home sales fell through the floor in the US and gas prices began to soar, digital SLR sales have grown dramatically. In the third quarter of this year digital camera sales increased 22% compared to the previous year, but industry breakdowns show DSLR sales almost doubled in the same period. That means that this holiday season many of you will be looking for a new digital SLR camera to replace an aging point-and-shoot digital or an earlier DSLR. While there haven't been many new entry-level models in the last year, the $1000 "advanced amateur" models of last year are today's entry-level DSLR. Several manufacturers have also redefined "entry-level" SLR down to $400 and have very capable models selling for that price, including a lens.Only a few new models have appeared in "Entry-level" this year. We will cover these in a look at entry-level choices
